It didn't try to do shit. Its a fucking computer. It does what you tell it to do and what you've told it to do is autocomplete based on human content. Miss me with this shit. Theres so much written fiction based on this premise.

Personally, I just don't enjoy that Twitter-like format. I never used Twitter so I find it... Awkward? To me its kinda like a platformer with bad controls, everything else about the game might be great but if it doesnt feel satisfying to play, I'll skip.

I still have my account and Megalodon on my phone but I just can't get into it.

Of all the current media subscription services, this is the one I have no issue paying for. The service I get for the money I pay is appropriate. I've taken my own measures to limit the amount of PII that Google can vacuum up from my life as well. I'm fine with them knowing what I like to watch and providing algorithmic recommendations for new content. I police said algorithm aggressively to ensure its always on topic and never trying to show me ragebait or shit I don't want to see.

When the day comes that the cost outweighs the return I'll stop paying for it and use Grayjay or Newpipe or whatever other option there is. If its a full on dystopia by then, well y'know what? I don't need Youtube to survive. I'll be fine without it.

I'd spend 100M in a month easily. Especially after I've bankrolled GrapheneOS, Ladybird and all my favourite FOSS projects. They also didn't say anything about charity which IMO isn't gifting. Once I feel like I've sufficiently contributed to society I'd buy a 50ft sailboat, pimp the shit out of it with solar and fuck off forever.

With the billion I'd establish a fund that pays out monthly to any projects I deem worthy and funds all food banks in my local area indefinitely.

100%. I just bought a Pixel 8 so I could install Graphene OS. It was so damn easy too. I was amazed. This phone is great minus the lack of headphone jack and SD card slot.

Nobody forced this guy to be a soulless capitalist. He chose his career path. Oh woe is you, Phil. Must be so hard for you. /s

See, the problem with the French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur...

If there are any unsecured networks in your vicinity it might be telling on you without you knowing.

Hey folks, just wondering if any of you out there are playing BFBC2 via the Project Rome servers and are having issues logging in.

I was able to play on the day I installed the feature but ever since I haven't been able to log into Project Rome in-game to play online.

Anyone else having similar issues? I'm wondering if this is just a me thing...

On vacation last fall we ended up hiking in the Lauterbrunnen/Grindelwald area. Took this pic on my Samsung A51 after a quick lunch. Other than the A51's limited auto PP, there are no edits or adjustments to this photo. Not bad for a cheap phone, eh?

Just curious. I'm hearing that a lot of people are using various apps with Lemmy but I'm having such a good experience with the browser version that I don't understand the point of adding an additional layer via an app in between my access to the service. I'd love to hear people's opinions about the pros and/or cons to using an app vs. the browser. [EDIT] I should specify that 90% of my usage is on my phone.
