Thanks for posting the entire article, it is behind paywall, correct ?
Nope.
Sarawak has always been rich in terms of GDP per capita, consistently in top 3 of all Malaysia states in the past decade, just behind Kuala Lumpur and Labuan, beating Selangor, Penang and Johor [1] that most people perceived as rich and economy driven states.
Their 2022 finances:
Revenues RM 11.9 billion (2022) [2]
Expenses RM 10.6 billion (2022) [3]
Sarawak economy has traditionally heavily depended on natural resource extraction and exports, i.e., oil and gas, timber and palm oil. Their main export partners [4]:
Japan (25.8%)
Peninsular Malaysia (15.7%)
Peoples' Republic of China (11.3%)
Republic of Korea (7.3%)
Republic of China (Taiwan) (7.2%)
They have their control long ago to enrich themselves and just that the peasants willingly fooled themselves to believe they have not been in control and grateful they have the second coming of Jesus to resurrect them from independence.

At the current climate, we could only hope PKR and DAP - just don't fuck up anymore...
Merge them and close the less original sub, the thing is a lot of people want to be moderators...
The history on Mahathir from his Iskandar Kutty root is worth to mention that it didn't get on mainsteam history enough.
Iskandar Kutty is such a shame for him to deny his past and he thinks it brought shame to himself, a fact that he couldn't alter in universe, no matter which timeline he intends to put himself in, he will always be a Tamil.

I refused to believe Sanusi gets the second term.
It might be too late to pull back the climate changes in Penang, both the Island and mainland. In just 30 years, the temperature increase 6+°C, the next 20 decades will be harsh as the changes compound itself. There is a study from Think City Institute [1]:
There was an increase of 5.63°C in Bayan Lepas' surface temperature between 1988 and 2020 and nearby George Town surface temperature between 1988 and 2020 showed an increase of 6.37°C. [1]
Currently, for shinny days, it is averaging 32-34°C, the next decades, I afraid some will have to withstand the 40°C as the new norm, and imagine with the humidity.
