Getting real academic larp vibes from them. I'm not exactly an expert, but something feels very wrong.
Yeah, this article definitely gives me the impression that this person doesn't know what they're talking about. Hyping up how the parents feel shame for yelling and completely overlooking the shame imposed on the kid? In fact, completely overlooking the kid altogether?? The only time they mention doing right by the kid is in context of doing right by the parent. But yeah spanking is just wrong: getting angry and hitting your kid seems like it has a different term associated with it. And yelling fails to effect positive change, and easily causes negative impacts. This reads as someone trying to justify old-fashioned (and almost always wrong) methods using new-fashioned ideas of authenticity and avoiding shame.
"You're a medical anomaly, you really need to stop trying to challenge god!" Beautiful writing!
Terrifying. "We believe in the sanctity of the bible and its influence on the founding of our nation" but also "Yeah, George Washington is on the same level as God."
This looks like one of the statues from Bioshock Infinite...
Well, so like, there are the constellations that the signs are based on, but there's also the segments the year is cut into with the same names. I assumed they were still (at least mostly) in line with the calendar, unless they had to inscribe a new astrolabe every year which isn't impossible. So the full moon aligning with the Capricorn constellation during the 29th degree of Capricorn, which I'll assumed she got the date right; I don't have an astrolabe on hand. EDIT: I think they misread, it appears to be the 29⁰ of Cancer, but maybe location has something to do with it?
I mean, not normalizing self-harm would be cool too.
It's like they totally missed the satire and just went, "Yeah, we should have an Imperium of Man with a God Emperor who's long dead but we worship anyway!"
That makes sense. Thank you.
Is it really irrelevant? It seems like a valid question. If all settlers, civilians and militants alike, are valid targets, then the majority of us cheering on the Palestinian liberation would definitely be valid targets for Native American liberation. Does it make us hypocrites? Ought we (white Americans specifically) to be eradicated? And if we are not to be eradicated, what are the implications for Israelis? These are just questions that make me think and am now asking here, not trying to sway anyone or make some point.
Wait a minute. So people who are inadmissible include those associated with a that forcibly suppresses opposition, but trust us, we're not doing that to communist parties. Don't worry, you can totally trust us!
I would be a little careful calling all these things narcissism, though. Narcissist personality disorder is a real thing, and people have no control over that. The harm these people cause to other people is not a result of mental illness, but as you said, a series of systems that discourage treating people like people and more like commodities.
