Many Japan businesses still require official documents to be endorsed using carved personal stamps called hanko, despite the government's efforts to phase them out.

...But my smart watch is local sync only through FOSS alternative app. Maybe it's a normally intelligent watch instead of a smart watch.
Last time I checked, Nextcloud Talk android app simply refuse to implement any sort of pull system. If one's using a google-less phone one needs to set up a push system on top (I've never managed to get the NC push system to work properly). There's even a separate "Nextcloud Notification checker" app on F-Droid to remedy the problem. It's all a bit silly.
I recently checked up on the status of the built in E2EE in NC when deciding what sort of encryption I wanted for data at rest on a self-hosted system. People are still complaining about data loss and horrible bugs. I've been burned before and stay well away from that half-baked implementation. I just use Cryptomator instead.
On the other hand NC supports AI implementation, there's machine learning that sets EVERY SINGLE MAIL to important in the mail app and the ActivitiyPub based Nextcloud Social have almost worked for many years so that's nice.

Aren't manuals a weight lifting thing?
I think people that take that approach to life are partly ruining it for us all. You're selling your privacy for convinience and in the process legitimising the removal of (what I consider) more ethical and reasonable solutions.
Corporate lies to hide unpopular changes is basically the soup of the day. Every day. For as long as I can remember. I'm an old elephant.

EH was one guy who fucked off to NOSTR because he held free speech higher than the opinion of Lemmy.ml, Lemmygrad and the likes who dominated the Lemmyverse in the beginning. I'm pretty sure it's someone else.
My nightmares always turn into semi lucid dreams, it's like "this is so horrible it must be a nightmare" and then I can choose to just nope out of sleeping.
My old man taught me that telling someone one is having a nightmare stops it from coming back. I've found that just saying it out aloud works as well.
I've used it quite a few times throughout my life, never fails. It's supposedly pretty eerie for others though when I just sit up in bed in the middle of the night, proclaim "I'm having a nightmare" and then promptly going back to sleep.
Part of using GNOME (at least to me) is expanding on the interface and building a personal experience through extensions.
Cover-flow when and-tabbing? Extension. Dynamic opacity of top bar? Extension. Wiggly-wobbly effects when dragging or minimising/maximising windows? Extension. Installing custom themes? Guess what, that's an extension too!
I think you understand where this is going.
In terms of polish (looking sharp), GNOME is the best on linux, still it can look much better in terms of eye candy if you add extensions. I think I have like 50+ extensions myself.
