Let’s say you’re right (which has problems of its own I’ll address later) and that Ukraines’s democracy has been subverted by USA, that doesn’t make a military invasion and armed occupancy a righteous or even justifiable act.

This makes no sense, first you stake your position against the invasion because "Ukraine is a sovereign country" and then you turn around and say it doesn't matter that it's not sovereign. Pick one and stick to it.

if someone accused you of trying to ‘annex’ your own arm and leg

Liberals are obsessed with these horrible analogies. It's not "their own arm and leg" to begin with, they were supposed to go through a constitutional reform and grant more autonomy to Donetsk and Lugansk:

"11. Conducting constitutional reform in Ukraine, with the new constitution coming into force by the end of 2015, providing for decentralization as a key element (taking into account the characteristics of individual areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, agreed with representatives of these areas), as well as the adoption of the permanent legislation on the special status of individual areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in accordance with the measures specified in Note [1], until the end of 2015. (See Notes)"

They did not do that, they did not go through a constitutional reform to grant Donetsk and Lugansk what was agreed to, instead they kept violating the ceasefire, encroaching on their territory and continued to escalate tensions with the help of NATO, so DPR and LPR are completely in the right to declare independence and join the Russian Federation in my view.

you know, instead of thousands of people dying for no good fucking reason, maybe they could’ve just...

  1. Not coup'd the government in Ukraine with Euromaidan

  2. Not fueled a civil war against the DPR and LPR

  3. Not violated Minsk 1

  4. Not violated Minsk 2

  5. Not mobilized men near the border

  6. Not threatened to rip up the Non-Proliferation Treaty

  7. Not thrown away the peace negotiations back in April 2022 and backstab Russia after they agreed to retreat

  8. Not ripping off Russia on their end of the grain deal and making sure Ukraine didn't use the humanitarian corridors for military purposes

But instead we're getting a continuation of this conflict until the literal last Ukrainian is mobilized, all for Western capital.

defensive alliance

NATO is defensive? lol, lmao

a corrupt state

That's Ukraine, it used to be considered the most corrupt place in Europe by the Western media right until February 2022

waging a war of expansion

That's also Ukraine since they're trying to take territory from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics after they declared independence following the coup against Viktor Yanukovych in 2014
