I know this is meant as a more serious thread, but all I can think of is this quote from futurama...

It taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female... But most importantly, when I had no friends, it made me feel like maybe I did.

For me, I would say I just have a lifelong interest in space and a desire to know what's out there.

So they can make money off it just in case?

So... It's a business

I was just about to quote this exact thing. That has to be the winner. The most idiotic anti abortion quote ever. Congratulations to that lady.

So then you are really just paying for the label?

[-] OrangeJoe@lemm.ee 4 points 11 months ago

Then should it also be incredibly hard to get into?

This an article from the daily mail, I don't think it counts as news.

Nah, there's one key difference between lemmy users and Reddit users. They behave mostly the same, but there is also a sense of superiority where they just think they know better because of the platform they choose to use.

This case is very local to me so I have been following a lot of the discussion about it.

Way too many people are too quick to call for this guy's death or saying that he deserved to get shot. And I just can't disagree more. But I do also get why people are sympathetic to the shooter though, cause he very much is also a victim in all this as well.

This guy though absolutely deserves consequences for these stupid "pranks" and he absolutely should not be earning any kind of money from this. Seriously fuck that guy.

Or maybe they are and you just don't like how they are voting.

I'm not saying that's actually the case, but that point of view always seems to be absent from these types of discussions.

In fairness, voyager ruined the Borg, not Picard.

Also not really sure about that whole being put in his place by women comment... Is it just that you feel he was put in his place at all, or that it was a woman who did it? Cause if it's the latter...

Anyways I feel that would be a mistake not to at least give SNW or lower decks a try as you never actually know until you try, but I'm not going to sit here and try and convince you beyond saying what I already have if you have already made up your mind. Then again, it's probably a good idea if things being different upset you this much. All the best.

And don't worry I know you didn't mean that I personally ruined star trek.

That is true, and you can get USBC dac cables for existing headphones that have the ability to swap cables.

But it's still yet another thing you have to buy when your existing stuff already worked fine, and it still ties up the USBC port so unless you wirelessly charge you still need an adapter.

It's just less convenient and as far as I am concerned removing the jack has offered no benefits to consumers.
