Right?

"Hey, I got an idea, let's add some expensive electronics and moving machinery to the most disposable part of the car."

If you cannot drive safely around pedestrians in normal street clothes, you should not be driving. You are the one bringing a lethal machine into the equation, they're just out living.

Okay. We need to get clarity here -- if a product is being returned because it just wasn't compatible with the purpose I had in mind? Like pants that don't fit? By all means, charge me for return.

But if the product is defective? No, you pay for that. You sent me garbage, you owe me 100% money back.

I've seen plenty of contrarian tankies who are pro Hamas. Often the same "anti imperialists" who hate the West so much they think supporting Ukraine is bad.

Personally I'm of the opinion that both sides are genocidal and anybody with a clear idea what to do there is lying, but I've been banned from !worldnews@lemmy.ml as "genocide denial" for agreeing with Biden that we should be suspicious of the claimed death numbers coming out of Palestine because both sides have a history of lying about violent acts in their conflict.

Actually that would be quite new, since most of their land-grabbing actions have been in the West Bank, both the rural settlement communities and urban areas around Jerusalem. The Gaza Strip borders have been consistent for a very long time.

But yes, their current approach of levelling buildings and commanding Palestinians to evacuate does lead me to think they might try that in Gaza.

Drives me nuts because my pantry shelf can't fit the tall boxes. I like the stubby fat cereal boxes.

If he was driving at night in the rain I could imagine that looking like a big dark reflective puddle and not realizing it's a gaping hole until you're too close to stop.

I've no interest in the Diablo series, but am I the only one who hates streaming as a measurement of success? It's like the gaming media equivalent to when journalists report on Xitter hashtags... it's just the easiest, dumbest metric available.

Be gay, do crime.

I mean who would ever suspect that the man who wrote and directed the Wing Commander movie could be incompetent?

imho, what's happened at LTT has a few separate root causes:

  1. A focus on extremely high output that means poor-quality work and poor working environment.

  2. Extreme unprofessionalism that works okay when you're a handful of guys who are close friends and all personally invested in the mission, but not when you're a big company with communication problems across the various working groups. This is normal growing pains when a company moves from "nimble start-up" into "big production", but Linus has been handling it really badly, and seems like a big part of the problem. Stepping back from the CEO role was a good first step but he's obviously still de-facto running the company.

I can't call Linus a poser since he and his team quite apparently know a massive amount about PC hardware, but the above factors mean they're going to make near-constant screw-ups, and now they're seeing real comeuppance from that.

edit: I just read the rest of the allegations on Xitter and holy shit this is worse than I thought. She really buried the lede. It's still "unprofessionalism" but a level of unprofessionalism that totally crosses the line far beyond normal growing pains. Flubbing workplace sexual harassment is a serious fuckup.
