They aren't. Petty bourgeois islamists - similar to Hamas (they were the same at one point) but more regressive in many ways - but at least Hamas has a military wing that collaborates with leftists. The end goal of all these movements is consolidation of their money and an iron grip on the state apparatus. Their biggest issue with the countries in the middle east is that they aren't the ones doing the oppressing, their checklist is just slightly different.
