Voluntarily. Having a place would cost a lot of money and if I made any money I would have to spend all of it on the place. This is just cheaper.

I've been looking into daddy issues recently and I'm honestly starting to believe I have some of the symptoms.

. Fear of abandonment . Unhealthy attachment patterns . Low self-esteem . Trust issues . Jealousy . Constantly needing reassurance

I think I have 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. I've been in a handful of relationships in my life and there always super stressful because there's always so much competition and I just want to be there number 1 girl and I don't know why but I get really obsessed with people. I've spoken about this before on this sub but if I like someone then it's like they become my main interest above all else. It's also hard for me to trust other people even I know them really well. Obviously, I get jealous really easily. I hate the thought of someone else being better then me at something and taking my lime light. I put so much effort into the way I look and getting others to like me and I feel like I deserve it.

My relationship with my parents isn't that good. I never had a 'daddys little princess' relationship with my dad growing up. I was always overshadowed by my siblings and I was never good enough for my mom or dad plus he was so violent. He got angry really easily especially when he had been drinking. He would slap us, beat us with belts and throttle us. It wasn't just that either he was always insulting us. He had no problems with using swear words around us and describing us as such and not in a fun or playful way. He singled me out of because I could never meet his standards, he call me stupid, ret@rded, lazy ect, ect,

I never had a normal father/daughter relationship growing but I think deep down I always wanted one. My number one fantasy is being pampered and taken care of by a rich man. I love the thought of being so loved by someone they go out of there way just to keep me around unconditionally like a father would do to his children. I want the father I never had.

I across this interesting page on Wikipedia called "Characters With Narcissistic Personality Disorder" and I was very surprised by the characters that will included. I never thought of Patrick Bateman or Bender as having NPD before. There are some obvious ones like the Wicked Witch from Snow White and Gaston from Beauty And The Beast but are there any others.

I'm sick of hearing the whining of "gifted" children. Like, why are they even "gifted" to begin with? What... they remember the names of shapes and count well and we're supposed to believe they're the second coming of Albert Einstein?

Can imagine the type of person this could rest? Imagine growing up and being told your special and better then the other kids when all they can do is learn faster than everyone else. There just lucky, that's what gets me. It's like being praised for being born rich. It's like if we lived in a world where anyone was in a wheelchair and they could walk.

As someone with interactual disabilities I hate hearing them complain. Like really? you you were praised growing up and did well academically? Aww, I cry for you😥

I love the thought of people thinking of me obsessively and wanting to be just like me.

For people who are in or where in special education, Why where you there? What was it like? How did you do later in life? And did it have any effect as a adult?

Depending on your age Mactonight are two completely different things. If your gen-x or millennial Mactonight is the weird fast food mascot you saw at McDonald's 20 years ago. If your a zoomer Mactonight is Moonman, the vaporwave, alt-right rapper who loves to say the n-word and kill minorities.

I remember my dad listening to Moonman songs.

"When have you discovered that you are different? What happened? Why did you take IQ tests?"

I was always slower then other kids my age. When I was 14 I was made to do an IQ test by the teachers in my school when I discovered my IQ at the time was 73.

"Can you share story about something that is different between you and average people?"

There's plenty. When I was 18 somebody asked me how to spell something and I just couldn't spell it and I broke down in tears. It was pretty embarrassing.

"Is your memory worse or just the thinking process?"

I think it's both. My memory isn't very good and my thinking process is very limited.

"Do you have any idea why your IQ is so low? Is it just coincidence or something happened while you were young?"

I think my mom drank while she was pregnant. Which explains why I'm different then my brothers and sisters. I don't know if that's true though maybe I just lost the genetic lottery.

"How can I recognize that someone has low IQ? How should I act when I meet someone with low IQ, should I use simpler sentences or simpler ideas?"

Not really, IQ isn't immediately obvious like other disabilities and if you meet someone with low IQ just speak and treat them like there anyone else.

Know what you're talking about. There's a guy on YouTube who's in a similar situation to me called Mark Malloy. He talks a lot about IQ maxxing shall we say.

"What do you do for work?"

I'm a burger flipper at Burger King.

"What level of education have you completed?"

I was a super senior at high school graduating at age 20 and I never went to university or college although I would like to.

"Were the results a surprise?"

Yes they were.

"And most importantly, has it affected your self-esteem at all"

I'm not capable of low self esteem. It's more like I feel shame and anger for it.

"or do you know how little an IQ test actually means?"

I hate people saying this. It's like if you were blind and everyone who could see told you that vision doesn't mean anything. I have seen first hand how IQ affects you. I remember how different I was to the other kids in my school. The way they could just learn things I couldn't. I've experienced how my IQ has singled me out from everyone else. Do you know what it's like to come to terms with the fact that no matter how hard you try you'll always be slower then everyone else? Do you know what it's like to come to terms with the fact that you'll never be a nurse, programmer or go to university/college no matter how hard you try? Do you know what it's like to come to terms with the fact that you'll never develop over the mental age of a teenager? No, you won't so fuck off with this corny bullshit about trying your hardest. Real life is not some cheesy sports movie where you really put your mind to something and overcome all the odds. That doesn't happen in the real world. Kid.

Yeah, I use my card more because I suck at maths and I need to use my voice to text feature on my phone to write things down. My memory isn't that good and I get overwhelmed by information easily

[-] SpaceFox@lemmy.ml 20 points 7 months ago

"How does your lack of ability to connect manifest?"

Very superficial and short term relationships. It can be very isolating at times. I can connect to others but only if there really close to me.

"Do you feel connected to characters in books or movies/do their hardships affect you?"

They don't. There just made up.

"Are you doing any kind of exercises to change patterns around thinking/relating?"

Sometimes I think about others like there me. I know that sounds odd but helps me understand them. I try not to make everything about my self. I listen to others.

"How do you feel NPD hurts you?"

Yes, that's what I'm trying to get across in this thread. NPD is like a drug there's highs and lows. Sometimes when something good happens I just have this feeling that I deserve it. That I'm worthy but with that there's come downs. Sometimes things don't go to plan and makes me mad because how can I be wrong? It's hard to accept there's something wrong with you because you put yourself up on a pedestal and every mistake feels like your cracks are showing. You think that everyone else is as interested in you as you are.

"Last one, don’t answer if you don’t want, but what caused you to seek out professional help?"

I was having suicidal thoughts. I stopped seeing the psychologist cuz I lost interest.

No problem. I'm obsessed with how others look at me and I need constant validation and attention. I'm very driven by short term pleasure. I care more about the immediate validation and attention from others then long term relationships.

I found it hard to relate to others. Everyone else is like a secondary character or a NPC. I know this may sound bad but I found it hard to care about other people. I love my family and friends but it's hard to give anyone else attention.
