you seriously think the ONLY possible explanation for cheap solar panels is "cheap slave labor?"

not the fact that the chinese government has heavily subsidized these industries? your only explanation is work camps? where are the pictures of these work camps, the stories from all of those people who came to the US from China, they must have something to say about all of the slavery and work camps!

get fucking real and stop living in lib fantasyland

the admin, house and senate have committed actions that ended in the deaths of easily upwards of 5 million people, americans or otherwise, and that's being generous. Just because they are "civilians" (who are in the pocket of the ruling class in america) doesn't mean all of them shouldn't have their fucking heads strung up on the golden gate bridge for what they've done.

  1. @transcomrade69@hexbear.net . I joined hexbear after she left but I will always miss her nonetheless. What a great comrade
  2. @ulyssest@hexbear.net because he killed Henry Kissinger. Only a true tankie would do such a thing
  3. @thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net for the megas. Honestly fantastic work.
  4. @yogthos@lemmy.ml is a renowned comrade, the first non-chapo to make a megathread, and my personal pick for #4.

Hi! You may be sick of these posts by now, but I have been having a very hard time selecting between three distros; that being OpenSUSE, Fedora, and Linux Mint. I have tried linux in the past, I did debian with cinnamon and ran into some issues, so I ended up sheepishly reinstalling windows and getting AME10. I want to give it another shot though, and I have settled on one of these three. I am an absolute beginner to linux and i'm a g*mer (laugh it up), so out of these which would be better? I don't have too many preferences, I guess I would like to avoid CLI's as much as possible but it's not too much of a big deal. I could get used to it and learn the commands. If you can give a bit of advice, that'd be great and I appreciate all of you! af-heart

This is a game that definitely has its issues, largely with performance. It's prone to crashing sometimes, but for some reason I just keep coming back to play this game. It's an RTS that takes place on an entire solar system, and is pretty beginner friendly. I find it easier than StarCraft, much less punishing. The dev team went bankrupt a while back, so there is no more support, which is a huge bummer but the game itself is ridiculously fun. I would encourage you to give it a shot, but it's 30 or so dollars, so you can always 🏴‍☠️ 🏴‍☠️ 🏴‍☠️ if you want. The team is bankrupt anyway. (You won't be able to play online if you 🏴‍☠️ 🏴‍☠️ 🏴‍☠️ though.)

So, I play subnautica and frequently switch between the current version and the public legacy version, one to play with friends using a mod that only works for legacy and the other for my own world which I play on the current version. This requires going to the betas tab and downloading the new version each time, which is fine, but Itd be much more convienient to switch between them instantly. Is there any way to do this?

I am interested in how pirates on the internet (which i am not) would get there hands on the files to a game, just, for example, Baldur's Gate 3, without torrenting? Now, I have heard tell of a place where these nefarious no-gooders would do this, for example gog-games.to. But, once they have acquired the file, what steps to these pirates take next? I have heard that .bin files come with these illegal files? How would one approach using those bin files? All out of curiosity of course. Thank you!

Hello! I have some q's about torrenting as the title implies. First, I know that torrenting requires a VPN capable of P2P, but i cant afford a vpn with such capabilities. is there any free ones available?

Second, if i end up being able to do so, where should i torrent from? i've heard of the pirate bay but honestly that's it.

Third, what is the best torrent client to use for this?

any help would be appreciated, thank you and good day comrades comrade-doggo

Hello, Windows 10 user of about a year now. I would like to switch to Linux (Ubuntu or Debian), but have a couple of questions.

  1. Is there a way to play steam games designed for Windows on Linux?/What are the drawbacks of doing this?
  2. Is there a way to transfer files from my old OS to the new one without using external drives (i dont have one ;-;)
  3. Is there a distro more suited to a Windows user going into linux rehab?
  4. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

TIA as always comrades and good day.

If I were to never touch GMail again and use Thunderbird for the rest of my life, would I need to change my adress to free myself from the deathgrip of google?
