As a POC, I am not surprised, but I was still optimistic because there was no way to vote "no" without looking like a racist cunt. Well turns out Australia has no problem with looking like a bunch of racist cunts.

Yup. Sounds like Australia. Proudly admitting they're racist, and afraid even of a symbolic gesture that has no actual power in the parliament. I'm just embarrassed that it is now official.

This is barely even a "formality" before a massacre. Israel was looking for an excuse to go all out without any restraint and they got it. It's fucking tragic that these bastards are playing with civilians lives. Fuck both authorities.

As a Hongkonger.... Fucking heartbreaking.

This dinosaur is the total embodiment of rape culture. He even has the gall to claim that is was consensual, blames "fake feminism", etc., and of course the video showed a room full of men applauding him, and a few women who just stared. Good FIFA did what needed to be done. Horrifying that Spanish FA is doubling down and threatening to sue Hermoso for defamation.

If that doesn't taint his idea of Musk, then nothing will.

Not saying shit's not fucked up over there right now, but is this an artist rendering? Its got what looks like artist initials at the top and I can't find this image anywhere else.

I'm not sure if this applies in general, but government sectors probably. My brother works in engineering for infrastructure and stuff, and he always brags about how much time off he gets and work life balance etc. Of course not when some environmental disaster happens, then there are lots of shit (sometimes literally) for him to deal with

Yeah restrict AI posts. I think cuteness needs to have some notion of soul behind it to be cute and AI images are just creepy and soulless.

I am surprised they didn't do so sooner. I would've sold everything I could right away after they're confirmed dead. There's no coming back from this, even if they had another sub.

There is a write up somewhere about this but I can't find it right now...

There is a mastodon instance that bans the letter "e" https://oulipo.social/ it's basically a writing exercise and challenge.

In response, https://dolphin.town/ is born. Where you can only use the letter "e", even usernames.

Edit: found the write up! It even contains a brief interaction between users from both instances! https://interconnected.org/home/2022/07/12/folktale

I find it especially bizarre that spez took inspiration and guidance from Musk. I can entertain the possibility of Musk intentionally driving Twitter to the ground (though he sure is taking the scenic route), but Reddit? It just seems like the rich tech bros have collectively lost their minds

I quote this video so much whenever I see an obnoxious car.
