False flags and excuses for mass political violence are common. Especially with the new presidential immunity they want to use and know the Democrats won't touch because they're allergic to power.

It's easy for them to support because it serves their interests. It's hard nosed because acknowledging that it supports their interests means acknowledging that they have the same interests as the people they position themselves as being against.
China is in a league of it's own on basically every metric of green energy adoption and their growth in all these sectors is only accelerating while the rest of the world is regressing towards LNG and other hydrocarbon based fuels.
Green energy and preservation of the environment is also a core component of all their future development goals.
