Pakistan's foreign minister confirmed.

Not long after the prime minister assembled the country's National Command Authority (military council that controls Pakistan's nuclear weapons)

EDIT: ah they deny it in your comment, weird.

The mineral deal makes an agreed peace deal impossible. It essentially functions as an Article 5 NATO clause because the moment the US becomes reliant on a strategic resource it will break all known red lines to protect it. Putin knows this and he knows that his best prospects are to dismantle Zelensky's government (directly or otherwise) and ensure the next regime throws the deal out the window.

Side note but can the DPRK not import via China or Russia?

Even so, the fact that the UN was ever allowed to restrict agricultural products to anyone is an utter travesty. It's just further proof that the sanctions regime of most countries is not interested at all in pressuring hostile governments but in legalised collective punishment.

Ahhhh that makes 100% sense. Some Kibbutz settlers consider themselves "socialist" namely because they're tighter knit communities to your usual capitalist individualist societies. Turns out maintaining a racially-pure colony on the periphery of the state takes some collaboration.

Of course a settler colonist who enjoyed free healthcare and subsidised education whilst cosplaying socialism by sharing some sugar with his neighbours is gonna be treated like Lenin when he comes home.

The problem with science is that so many people are taught and believe it is a purely objective way to quantify every possible phenomena, and a method to provide a final truth to a question.

Science is a debate, and science is a dialectical process. But both, or especially the latter, is partly more complex than explaining science as the ultimate rational pursuit of truth but also abjectly rejects the neoliberal concept of ending history.

Science cannot be dialectical because this proposes that science isn't final, and if science isn't final then nature isn't final, and if nature isn't final then how can society be final?

There's obviously more on top of this but that's a lot of my feelings behind the anti intellectual movement and why the (liberal) opposition to it isn't doing itself many favours.

The video attached is a perfect example of the kind of "I'm not prepared to learn anything new so everyone else is wrong" attitude that is eating away at Linux like a cancer.

If memory safety isn't adopted into the kernel, and C fanaticism discarded, Linux will face the same fate as the kernels it once replaced. Does the Linux foundation want to drag its heels and stuff millions into AI ventures whilst sysadmins quietly shift to new kernels that offer memory safety, or does it want to be part of that future?
