UK or US? I was about to offer above asking but discovered a cool feature of post-2008 mortgage lending where banks might only lend what they think a house is worth, so I'm just hoping landlords don't have extra cash laying around to cover that and put in better offers.

Doesn't help that the one I offered for is being considered by a house builder and not the owner (they part exchanged for a newbuild property) so they're not likely to have the anti-landlord sentiment that you mentioned.

This will and probably has got a bunch of flak but I'm with you. There's nothing wrong with recognising when we can pick a better term for something we enjoy.

Like, I get why people use "-porn" as a suffix and it isn't offensive to me but I still won't use that in a workplace. It'd be cool if someone thought of a better neologism!

All guns degrade after being fired, but modern production firearms are just plastic wrapped around metal tubes. 3D printed guns have always worked on the same principle but it takes time to develop them to the same safety standards.

Probably better for BRICS countries to consider contributing to something different.

Realistically there's no feasible way for the US to block access to use the kernel, and even a soft fork of it will be laughably easy for glowies to exploit. There are a bunch of promising kernels that could be well suited for China and Russia's push towards RISC and ARM independence, whereas in Linux they'd be tasked with maintaining drivers and other systems that are a massive security vulnerability if you don't have total control over them.

I'd honestly even consider it a good idea for Russia to get the FSF to fight this considering it's a blatant violation of the GPL. Even if the president can just say whatever they like, at least you can make it embarrassing and expensive for the chauvinists gloating at the labour they exploited for years.

There's so many factors. Pesticides, nitrates are prevalent in most meat products, lack of dietary fibre can increase risks of colon cancer and high cholesterol.

Not to mention micro plastics (though they've been around for longer than we've known I bet) and forever chemicals like PFAs (though not sure if they're cancerous??).

30 arms exports out of 350, and gives an exception for the components required for F-35Bs which were used to bomb a school the same day this was announced.

Lammy even said this will have a negligible impact on Israeli military power.

This is a clear attempt at trying to turn the public on-side whilst collaborating with Israel to ensure the bombs keep dropping more than ever. Especially suspicious is that some of the licenses being suspended appear to be for arms that are already being limited by Palestine Action's sabotage campaign.

It's still 30 less licenses than last week, but it's too little and too late. Labour has an institutional islamophobia problem and as such is not interested at all in leveraging its position to end the genocide.
