I frankly don't know how the average atomized American family copes with raising children.

Apparently they are coping very poorly, as per recent surveys:

"After breaking out responses from people with children under age 18, the APA reported that 48 percent of those parents and caregivers describe themselves as completely overwhelmed."

"The parent-specific breakdown also found that 41 percent said most days they "were so stressed they couldn't function" — double the number reported by non-parents — while 42 per cent said they were so stressed they felt numb."

This past week I went on vacation and logged out for the entire week (except a few visits to the general megathread).

This was the most logged off I've been in a long time. It was only possible since I was on an island, without my laptop and without my phone for most of the day. This is the first time in a long time that I didn't spend all day thinking about the horrible shit happening in the world.

It was great and I wish I could do that more often. But it's almost impossible to replicate that environment. It only worked because I was on vacation and was able to just chill on the beach all day.

In regards to the monthly review, last month was hot as hell so I fell off in a lot of my habits. The plan for September is to pick up where I left off before summer, especially with exercise. It would be great if I could resume runnning twice every week in September. unity

This week I finally recovered from my health issues so I was able to continue doing microexercises. I'm doing jumping jacks, incline push-ups and calf raises throughout the day. Let me know if you have some suggestions for microexercises that I can do every day.

It has already gotten too hot for running in the afternoon so I would like to go running early in the morning next week. It would be cool if I could go for a 10 minute morning run on a few days per week.

My goal this month was to start running again and eat at maintenance so that I have enough energy. I went running on 6 days and hit my nutrition goals on most days. I'm currently around 74kg which is good but I'd like to lose some more body fat. Overall I'm satisfied with my progress in March.

In April, I want to continue running 2x per week and continue eating healthy solidarity

Spent 8 hours in the wage cage. Went to my dentist (she's a woman so technically I wasn't alone on Valentine's big-cool ). Took a walk back to the apartment and played The Ascent, it was a great time. I'm actually stoked to be volcel right now so it's all good dubois-dance

Trust me gang, it's better to be single than in a dysfunctional relationship (which is 80% of all romantic relationships in capitalism lol)

Last week I practiced meditation on 5 days in a row. I did a bit of reading and touched grass with a friend. I think it was a good week in terms of making progress.

Next week the weather will be a bit warmer here so I would like to go running on at least one day. I also want to go hiking with a friend on the weekend.

Have you read Atomic Habits? It's a good ass book with a lot of useful and actionable advice. I definitely recommend it. I also recommend Getting Things Done by David Allen.

If you want to develop a habit or routine, I think it's beneficial to do it at the same time every day. For example, you can make a daily schedule in Google Calendar and then you will get a reminder on your phone every time a new time slot begins in the schedule.
