Depends on your firmware. You can install FreshTomato firmware on these things and enjoy a much better experience with many more features and higher stability.

If we can't have fun, what can we do right. :)

So you can escape the real world into Zuckerbergs weirdo world where he can profit from watching and manipulating you?

Strong pass. I'm sitting on my lawn having an icecream. Fuck you Zuckerberg.

Basically they have made themselves kings and everyone else are peasants. Now they are dividing the land between them.

Indeed, that movie is actually scary! Like proper scary, not how most movies are.

Well money itself is meaningless, so capitalism is also meaningless. It's most humans wasting their days and their lives because they have to work.

It's a big hamster wheel to keep us busy.

Absolutely. And I hope Lemmy stays rather small actually... Too big is not good since it brings corporate interests in monetizing the entire thing. And then we are back to having ads and data mining and not being allowed to use certain words again like on reddit or other big tech sites.

Had no idea this existed. Thanks!

Everything should be private by default. All this shit about nothing to hide is the opposite of that - trying to justify why something should be private. The question is rather why it should be public.

There companies profit enormously on our data and we get exactly nothing in return except the ability to use their service, under the conditions that they put in place. We have zero power to change anything at all about what they provide for us.

A user in that context is similar to a loser. Someone who has no ability to control what happens.

I started using Lemmy like that, without any apps. It's fine, specially on desktop.
