Nobody’s really fighting them. Can you lose a game you’re not playing? People just forfeit to fascism.
The fall of the USSR really did kill the future. For best or worst, after they fell it seems humanity just collectively lost hope.

Guys no one ever says “don’t even ASK!”. It’s just that if you do ask, and the person does not have the energy or the capacity of explaining at that moment for any reason, don’t push and don’t get angry. Being oppressed is tiring, and having to explain yourself all the time is even more tiring. That’s all. If you are genuinely curious, you will find resources to learn and even people willing to teach. Just don’t expect EVERYONE to be that person.
Why is it a mess? It’s just the nature of TTRPGs. Like the books make it very explicit: the rules are only rules insofar as the GM and players agree; and the GM is always the final arbiter.
“Homebrewing” is just playing the game as intended.
People really need to read Marx man…
He literally described fascism decades before it was born. He said the contradictions of capitalism would cause people to look for solutions, and a “false” path people would find was that indeed capitalism had to be overcome. But that they had to return to a pre-capitalist life, return to the land and to feudalistic idealisms. Fascist Italy literally had “guilds”…
Marx said these “anti-capitalists” would see value in communist rhetoric, because they agreed with communists half-way. But they missed that the only solution is to move forward. That before capitalism, there were contradictions that inevitably led to capitalism, and it would just happen again.
Fascism is literally miopic anti-capitalism. It’s what happens to actual justifiable dissatisfaction and anger at the system without theory and understanding.
Yes, fascism really does sound like communism. It’s the goal, it’s how it’s born. It SOUNDS like communism, but has none of the solutions or the substance.
Never seen that take. I think removing a neolib sticker from a Lenin statue is always good praxis.
wat
Like out of all arguments against a socialist state, saying it’s like cancer which is like capitalism is… dumb? Like how? Which socialist state metastasised and “grew” without natural limits? What even is this argument?
India at 80% thinking they’re going the right direction… sheesh
But that’s not the point in Dune. It’s about how human culture shifts and absorbs itself over time. How marginal cultures become central, and central cultures become marginal. That’s how I saw it at least.
Ah cool, that is good to hear. I’ll join indeed 🙌
Music. My parents weirdly never listened to music. When I was a kid, the most they would listen to was a Queen greatest hits album and another greatest hits from this 80s band from my country. But like, only on road trips.
I don’t know why, but ever since I was very young I loved music. One of the first birthday presents I remember choosing myself was a copy of Dookie (Green Day). I didn’t know what it was, but I loved the cover. Less than a month later we were back to the record store and I bought this brand new album by a band I had never heard before, In Rainbows by Radiohead. And that was it. I was hooked forever. Music was to become the most constant and important part of my life.
I spent years finding and listening to music. Trying to understand the history and development. Music really was my main hobby in high-school, like listening to music.
Nowadays I also play guitar and produce a bit, but I still listen to music as a hobby.
And my parents still don’t listen to music at all lmao. Even after enduring years and years of me hogging the AUX cable and forcing them to listen to everything from Wu Tang Clan to Burzum and Sufjan Stevens and Nirvana… but I love them. The most they would say is “wow this is very heavy” as I blasted black metal lol
Humans being the most social and cooperative of all big animals ever?
She runs “reeducation camps”. She industrializes the feudal Earth Kingdom. She’s clearly Hitlerite, but also “Stalinite”. She’s LITERALLY horseshoe theory personified.
