Look I fucking love modern and contemporary art. They are my favorites. But shit like this is really just gallery world people trying to replicate the bombastic success of Rothko and alike. It’s just trying to be edgy in the right way to sell millions. No siree, none of that for me. Please and thank you.
Stirner would bully egoists so hard…
But capital that stops dies, and if you are outcompeted you stop. So you always have to do better than everyone else. And capital has to accumulate exponentially to keep growing, and not stop and die.
The mechanics of the system make sustainable growth impossible. Tweaking the surface of the system will never change that core.
I don’t want to be overly negative or pessimistic, but I really feel even if we had a global revolution right now and started doing our real best, we’re still very fucked. So it’s basically either we kill these monsters and watch the world die a little less hard, or we don’t and we watch it collapse at the speed of light.
Some points to think about…
Helmets are super rare in the Netherlands or Denmark, and they have much lower accident rates than the US, while having much higher use of bikes.
People ride in sidewalks because they are forced onto streets or roads and don’t feel safe.
I’ve seen many bikes with two or three people as well, lol.
People getting in accidents is much more about the lack of infrastructure.
It’s also about famines tho…
The Irish Famine was 100% caused by capitalism. The Bengal Famine is the same. All famines today in the capitalist world are the fault of capitalist logic. When people die of hunger in Ethiopia or Eritrea, it’s capitalism killing them.
Whaaaat? Capitalism benefits capital and not workers and consumers? Preposterous.
And to be clear, that is not the biggest issue with billionaires. It’s the accumulation of capital, not wealth itself. Capital being in their hands, under capitalism, means they rule the system. So the 2660 billionaires control most of the capital of the world, and thus most of the world. Because y’know, capitalism. The system where having capital directly translates into power. The system the bourgeoisie fought to implement, in violent revolutions, against feudalism. Which is the system where “God” says who deserves power.
But there were more than 2660 lords and kings…. So we’re literally living in a less equal system, numerically, than feudalism. Lmao good job humans.
John Lennon was abusive to his first wife, not Yoko.
I mean I do kind of expect the world to completely collapse within 20 years, so kinda?
A cave or a half-destroyed building in an overgrown city are free right? Doesn’t get cheaper than that.
Mass Effect.
That opening scene, with that music playing… it really hooked me from the first second.
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. It’s perfect from start to finish, but it ended after the 2nd season because it was cancelled 💀 so might not count.
