From the link:
In Singapore and beyond, there has been a quickening of interest in the anticolonial and socialist struggle of the 50s and 60s after the publications of archival research by historian PJ Thum and of the Eisner-winning graphic novel The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye by Sonny Liew, among other works. The undisputed leader of this historical struggle was the student activist, trade unionist, and politician Lim Chin Siong (LCS), who organised the largest social movement in Singapore to fight for democracy, freedom, and justice. Although this movement ultimately failed, it opens a window into an alternative future for Singapore, Malaysia, and the rest of Asia—a window that creative writers with their imaginative powers can help us look at and through.

Deadline for submissions is 1 December 2023. There are also introductory material on Lim Chin Siong himself and the historical context he was in.

Unfortunately their twitter thread about Lim is not mirrored anywhere else, but if you like, here's the thread

FAQ

Aren't board games kind of lame? No.
Is this beginner friendly? Totally! Every game gets explained to the group before starting. A few new players come for every session and have a great time!
What games will we be playing? The board game cafe has a huge library to choose from; check out their FB page for photos. The cafe staff have been quite good at recommending fun games as well.
Can I BYO? The venue has asked that we don't bring our own food and drink.
How do we get in touch on the night? PM me your number if you'd like to be added to the WhatsApp group.
Is there dinner beforehand? We're leaving it to the group to self-organise on this as it's hard to coordinate the whole group plus a big booking etc.
How many people attend? We generally have 12-24 people per session. Attendance varies widely and it's hard to predict!
When do events happen? Twice every month! Once on the 2nd friday at Vivae PJ, Once on the last Friday at Vivae Ampang.

For the longest time, it baffled me why there's a Bukit Tinggi in Klang when there's not a hill in sight. I think it might be named after the Highlands Estate.

Next time if I go to Genting I’ll stay here

Clickbait-y title/opening aside, this is a fascinating place that’s so much more than “it’s creepy/haunted”. People LIVE here. There’s a community inside with shops and barbers and all that.

Yeah it's theatre but I figure boleh lah. Apparently got good buzz. I wish I can go.... Synopsis : 16 year-old Ajay must navigate the intricacies of growing up in a traditional Malaysian Indian household while learning to explore and accept his own identity without losing the one person who matters most to him; his mother.

Tix available for evening and matinee shows.

What things you discovered on your own, that is actually already known and named for a long time? For example, you observe a phenomenon, you write it down, but didn't look it up further for lack of words. Years later, you chance upon the exact same thing on Wikipedia.

And it's qt another thread of his, and basically... It's no contest syiok/shiok/syok comes from Malay, but where did Malay got it? Apparently by way of Persian and it still exists in Malay, as "asyik".

Pretty cool stuff!

Welcome to our virtual third place, The Café.

Come on in and make a new human connection over a cup of coffee (or Teh Tarik). This is a casual community, do whatever you want, share your oyen pics, your frustrations, and even organize a weekend picnic with the community. The world is your oyster.

Rules are simple, be kind and civil with each other. As with any other café, rude patrons will be kicked out.
