Yeah I'm at the point now I don't even root for socialists in these petty local elections. Feels like every time we win we just get blamed for every single fucking problem the locale had, even if it was shit that was going on/worse under the previous establishment Dem. Our enemies propaganda machine is too damn strong for us to have any mainstream victory.

While I agree with the sentiment, I think we're going to get blamed regardless of whether we're in power. Might as well have some decision making power while it happens. I think part of it is that we need candidates who are willing to push back hard against the narratives . drop the high road shit and step into the pit.
