It's pretty easy. Just don't go to lemmynsfw.com. hopefully, we'll get a way to ~~subscribe to~~ block all communities on another instance with a single click at some point to make this easier.

I don't get the point of that entire instance; it's all clothed celebs and pseudo celebs. Shit's mild.

I can't jerk off to this‽

edit: I see, there's more stuff once you register, I'm a dummy.

[-] shindig1457@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

NSFW communities don't show up by default. You can create an account on that instance to view all of them, or visit https://lemmyverse.net/communities to search for your specific interests.

[-] drekly@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago

create an account on that instance

I was told I could create an account anywhere on the fediverse and it wouldn't matter, I'd see everything. If I need to create an account every time I want to see some booba, that's not very seamless. Can I not just subscribe and see it on this lemmy.world account?

This is all very confusing coming from the one-account-one-site "everything just works" of reddit.

[-] Ser_Salty@feddit.de 20 points 1 year ago

lemmynsfw isn't federated with most instances, that's why. And really, most people had a porn alt on reddit anyway, so they're used to it

[-] Risk@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

Have you tried allowing NSFW posts in your settings? Assuming lemmynsfw.com hasn't been defederated from your instance, then the posts will then show up.

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

You don't necessarily need an account on lemmynsfw.com - you would just need an account to browse NSFW on their homepage. But you can see and interact with all their communities from your current instance.

Just search for the communities while on lemmy.world - for example !porn@lemmynsfw.com or !boobs@lemmynsfw.com or whatever. You can click on those.

Just make sure you have "Show NSFW" enabled on your profile settings

Now some instances like lemmy.ml decided to block (defederate) from lemmynsfw.com so YMMV

Oh I'm an idiot. Just signed up and I can see some stuff. Still fairly benign stuff, haven't even seen a single woman get CThreeP0'd.

[-] AfricanExpansionist@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

Um, how'd you get that interrobang?

I N T E R R O B A N G!!!

Geez, this dude.

[-] AfricanExpansionist@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I N T E R R O B A N G‽‽‽

[-] jtablerd@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

yeah you just have to get them at lemmy.store but it's pretty cheap for that tier

[-] ICastFist@programming.dev 0 points 1 year ago

Sounds like fun times, that ‽

[-] R00bot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 year ago

I think you have to be signed in to see the NSFW stuff. Clicking the link above will take you to the instance site, logging you out. I think you need to search the instance url in Lemmy to go there from your instance?

[-] BettyWhiteInHD@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

You're right, I'm a dum-dum. It's still all fairly soft-core.

[-] SirQuackTheDuck@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I mean, I wouldn't put !cumsluts@lemmynsfw.com in the softcore category. Is mediumcore a thing?

Edit: nsfw, obviously.

[-] Gecko@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

I partially get the reason for hiding NSFW content behind a sign up but at the same because it's not stated anywhere, for a newcomer it looks like the instance may just be without content.

[-] DrTeeth@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

On a completely unrelated point, how can I browse/list all the communities on a separate iinstance from the one I've subscribed to?

[-] scutiger@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Check out browse.feddit.de, by default it lists everything, but there's a menu where you can select just which instances you want to see.

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 3 points 1 year ago

I find lemmyverse.net to be much better. Just select "Communities" up top. And check the NSFW box if you want it.
