A little over a week ago, the Socialist Movement of Ghana concluded its second National Delegates Congress in Aburi, gathering 300 delegates from across the country. There, they deepened their commitment to the working class of Ghana and committed to intensifying political education and organization at the grassroots. The SMG itself decided to not electorally contest the 2024 elections in Ghana, but still presented a manifesto, and nonetheless managed to get two SMG members parliamentary seats in the National Democratic Congress.
Anyway, back to the National Delegates Congress: the delegates agreed that the Western imperialist system is now under a profound crisis, in which the likely future is a heightening of brutality, chaos, and resource plundering - a future which must be resisted and organized against.
To summarize their various statements and condemnations:
- Inside Ghana: a commitment to women's rights, youth empowerment, and environmental protection.
- A condemnation of the resource plundering of the Democratic Republic of the Congo by imperialist powers.
- A salute to the people of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, in their campaign against outside imperial control in the Sahel.
- A condemnation of Morocco's illegal occupation of the Western Sahara, and a call for the UN to identify the independence of the Sahwari people.
- A strong condemnation of Israel's genocidal atrocities and massive terrorist operations against nearby countries, and support for Palestinian independence.
- Support for the people of Haiti against outside imperial domination.
- A call for the end of the blockade on Cuba and their removal from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list.
- Solidarity with Maduro and the people of Venezuela against the United States.
- A rejection of all imperialist aggression and sanctions against Iran.
- A condemnation of NATO's decades-long military expansion eastwards towards Russia, especially as it has now resulted in massive devastation and risks a third world war.
- And finally, a commitment to Pan Africanism and international solidarity with all oppressed peoples around the world.
A platform I think we all can agree to!

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

CAN'T HAVE HOT HANDSOME GENERALS ANYMORE BECAUSE OF WOKE
wait... why would you need to retake height tests? are they worried some of their soldiers were actually three kids in a trenchcoat?
I'm loving this "diversity allow us to better solve the problem of, uh... murdering civilians in the Middle East (and I guess now Latin America?)" argument, a real win for liberalism
more governments need to adopt this innovative eldest-son-based method of evaluation
but what about the other sons, Pete? are we going to be sending them to mercenary companies? (you do have a lot of them apparently, as I just found out)
CW: SA (unfortunately i don't think I can spoiler this since spoilers can't be nested?)
well, I'm sure that's going to do wonders about SA rates in the army (https://www.nbcnews.com/investigations/us-military-sexual-assault-rates-2-4-higher-govt-estimates-study-says-rcna166490)
don't even have the guts to purge people properly, they have to politely ask them to resign. weak!

My brother in christ you're feeding them
Well, not anymore! Thanks to the wonders of neoliberalism, even the basic physiological needs of the brave defenders of freedom are now sub-contracted out to private contractor ghouls!

This isn't entirely a new thing (Halliburton probed over military meals, Feb. 2, 2004), but it seems to be massively escalating. I wish the US military a very good shaking down by every company in the country
I'll just post this really funny excerpt from one of the above articles too:
pete kegseth declares mandatory minimum BAC for service
It kind of seems like with this:
That the quiet part given they want the highest male standard is they want to purge the overwhelming majority of women from combat roles as they may not be able to meet the "highest male standard" which would fit with their whole anti-woke Christian crusader ideal of a bunch of TOUGH (white) MEN who drink blood and "sit on thrones of Chinese skulls" which they're going for.
This would seriously hamper short term US ability by pushing a bunch of talent out. The Pentagon may just tell him no or slow walk the whole thing to avoid things imploding. But if they push it through it almost would seem to lend credence to the domestic occupation and escalation ideal as if you want to impose hard-edge white male supremacy on the US population you don't want the troops enforcing it to include people who are going to be made second class citizens or even untermensch by what they're upholding as they might not carry it out or even risk rebellion.
It definitely seems to fit into a kind of reactionary path back towards 20th century fascist ideals along with the push for being healthy which because of brain worms running the show means snake oil and very minor reforms but the want is there, the thinking is there. This, the Thiel stuff, so many other things, they're really serious about clash of civilizations 2.0 here against China and really against all non-white, non-Christian nations who don't submit to them and pay tributes.
One can only hope it leads to collapse and failure but most likely it results in these things turning inward if they do fail abroad. And with AI assisted surveillance, kill-bots, social control via the internet. Things look grim for those in the west.
Yeah, and the whole thing with pretty much shutting down internal investigations feels related to this too. "No more anonymous complaints. No more repeat complaints. No more smearing reputations" - what reports are even going to be made under these circumstances? Anonymity is, like, one of the most basic and most important features for any such system - who's going to report a fellow soldier, or worse, a commanding officer, for abuse, if they can't even be guaranteed safety from retaliation?
I don't know if there's statistics on this, but I would assume a pretty substantial amount of complaints are about sexual harassment (which likely overwhelmingly affects women in the service), as well as harassment and abuse more broadly (verbal abuse, bullying, hazing, all the classics), which likely affects the non-white non-cis-male demographic disproportionately, really anyone who's even slightly outside of whatever "normal" is perceived as. And now with these changes - well tough shit, real "warfighters" don't whine, just shut up and take it! Retvrn to the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket, a guy who was very cool and based in a movie which is not at all trying to say anything about what such treatment leads to.
They always ignore how he died in the shitter.
I wonder what happens when they take these purges too far. Like if you plan to start by cutting 20% of the officer corps across the board, you start pushing out experienced soldiers, pilots, sailors, and engineers because they're not white christian ubermensch...
This country is pathetic so nothing cool will happen, but I think about how the US carried out an ideological purge on the Iraqi army after the invasion and how much of a disaster that turned out to be in practice. "We're kicking the ~~Ba'athists~~ Woke out of the military!"
To the American officer class I say to you: bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk
Pretty sure he also encouraged war crimes
The troops are just reflecting the us population and the subpar access to food most of them get from their small town in Iowa
