I'm going to start reaching back to when the Romans conquered the part of the world I could theoretically trace my heritage back to and use that to excuse all of my bad behavior forever. Sorry tankies I'm allowed to be racist, sexist, corrupt, and awful because somewhere in my family lineage there is a whiff that maybe we were oppressed for a little bit, and if you say anything about it well that's just erasing my very important culture that I totally have a really strong connection to
I hate to break it to you, but reactionaries have already unironically been doing "statistically speaking some of my ancestors were probably enslaved by the Romans at some point, and I'm doing ok, so what's so bad about the legacy of slavery anyways?" to concern troll.
