I saw a flyer on a light post yesterday that said "Are YOU a communist?!? Go to wwwdotsocialistrevolution.com and join today!" and I immediately thought, "wow feds are getting agro"
I saw those in New York and had to spend a minute trying to figure out if they were Avakianist cultists, trots, or CPUSA libs since they all decided to go with the same dumb recruiting blurb
I saw some with that wording in Germany last summer, they were from the IMT, so trots in that case...

having looked it up, I'm pretty positive it is that; the slogan is the exact same, and it has ties to the IMT. ~~Then again, trots split so often that there is a possibility that this is a different sister group to whatever made the one I saw /s~~

I'm not from Germany so I can't really say, since I haven't heard too much of any German orgs. I only knew of the IMT because they are also fairly present in France (if by "present" you mean "trying to sell their newspaper at any and all protests").

I think it came originally from IMT, I'm not too studied on trotskyite lore to be 100% positive so take it with a grain of salt but I'm positive the phrase originated from the trotskyite side of the left.
I don't know about the other guys but I'm near certain cpusa started running that line around the end of last year because I remember coming across their shit and being confused about which trot org was trying to co-opt the cpusa hammer and gear and being more confused when it turned out it was cpusa trying to coopt trot language.
If I remember correctly, those were put by trots. So just as bad as feds lmao.
