Alright, okay, but there's a part of me that wonders why we're focusing on Greta Thunberg. This is in News and not The Dunk Tank.

So, do we think that she's intentionally laundering for the MIC to turn Georiga into another active battleground against Russia or is she just another one of the millions of people who get swept up in these types of things and we only care because she's a celebrity?

And yet ~~she~~ he persisted...

Interesting how you say this rather than make the mistake of trying to engage with the atrocious people in that thread.

I mean, I guess I'm wrong for having incredibly low expectations when I started out reading the comments. My bad.. I guess.

Sure, but so what. So are lots of other people. Sucks that this was sparked and encouraged by Western NGO's, though.

Eh... she's protesting the more right wing part of the government winning an election. Seems fine to me.

Russia is useful for destabilizing the Western dominated world order, but is definitely not a "friend" of the left.

Edit: (gonna leave my comment here, because I earned this)

Woof, fucked a hornets nest on this one didn't I?

My intent, ultimately wrongheaded as I may be, was to wonder why we care about Greta Thunberg taking a side in this. I wasn't aware she was more than a minor celebrity based on climate change stuff and has enough... I don't know... influence to draw more outside support for this attempt at a color revolution. This feels likes something for The Dunk Tank and not News.

Sure, she made some negative statements about US imperialism, but that's pretty low hanging fruit. Its the easiest thing in the world to do when there's a flag to identify who is doing what. But can completely understand why it might be much harder to see what's likely going on when the flags are the Georgian flag and the Russian flag, especially when you're in your early 20's.

Real "Fight Club" mindset there.

lathe-of-heaven

They do it, but attack 3rd party supporters and people who aren't logged by the state as having turned in a ballot.

But the really scary thing about aerosol injection--the thing that really keeps people who work on this up at night--is just how easy it really is, and how difficult to stop it would be once the compound was released. If a Peter Thiel or an Elon Musk (or an Exxon-Mobil) decided to initiate a program like this,

"How to Blow Up a ~~Pipeline~~ Stratospheric Aerosol Injection Guns"

Random serious question from the cheap seats, don't feel you need to answer.

For this type of project, come across any research on what the effects could/would be for wavelengths of light not visible to the human eye?

I occasionally wonder how the chemicals that could do this would affect birds/bugs (lots of species can see parts of the light spectrum that we can't see right?), maybe reptiles, and I know plants (trees come to mind) use more of the light spectrum than we humans typically notice.

huh... comments aren't all that bad. Bad takes are getting downvoted, seems like questions are being asked and answered in good faith. Seems like really shitty comments are getting deleted and pro-Palestine comments aren't getting deleted. Some questionable framing here and there but ... not too bad all things considered.

... but I finally did it.

For whatever silly reason, I decided to play the 2005 version of Space Rangers ( a kinda difficult game on its easy mode) on its hardest difficulty setting and after a handful of bad starts and one very loooonnnng good run I managed to finish.

To celebrate I will use this emoji

And as penance I will start reading Capital Volume 1 as linked by comrade Vampire in their "get in nerds we're reading all volumes of Capital" reading group.

Slowly working on reviving an old Asus AX1200. Got linux mint running on it but was wondering if there's any recommendations for wireless PCEx1 cards to look out for? Bonus if it's got bluetooth as well.

Pay is less than my old job.

Hours are less than my old job.

Two more work days a week than my old job.

Zero supervision and I'm in a building completely alone for 3~7 hours (depending on the day).

But at least its not temporary (until its decided that the office isn't "economically feasible" and I wind up out of work again). So I guess that's something.

I wonder how long it will take me to get settled so that I can get back into reading again? thonk

Its about the only thing that's got me low key excited. Been too long since I was able to read any theory related books without my tired brain just shutting down.
