Most trades weren’t gonna happen until after 12/15 when a lot of players become eligible to be traded so don’t think this affects the offers too much.

Giannis Antetokoumpo and his agent Alex Saratsis are having conversations with the Milwaukee Bucks about the two-time NBA MVP's future -- and discussing whether his best fit is staying or a move elsewhere, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

A resolution to these talks is expected in the coming weeks, sources said, which will result in shaping if Antetokounmpo is available ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline.

I think a stronger UN in the way they pitch it (more permanent members required to veto than just 1 country, membership suspended for violating charter, etc.) would help limit US intervention which would be better for the global left.

But I don’t think the US agrees to that though even if they think it could limit Russia or China. There’s way too many votes (Cuba Embargo, Israel, etc.) that they and 2-3 of their vassals are the only countries in the whole UN voting against something that they’d then lose with a reformed UN.

Klay Thompson did not hold back his thoughts about Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant following a heated postgame confrontation between the NBA stars.

"With Ja, he's a funny guy. He has a lot to say all the time, especially for a guy who rarely takes accountability. But you know what? That's for another day," Thompson said.

Asked what Morant said, Thompson replied, "Nothing of intelligent depth."

"Just running his mouth. He's been running his mouth for a long time and it's funny to run your mouth when you're on the bench," Thompson said. "It's kind of the story of his career so far, just leaving us wanting more. You know, we all want to see him out there and do his best but he's just been letting a lot of other stuff get in the way of that. We need that in the NBA, we need our best players to be out there.

To save a click it’s Miami:

So far this season, Miami is not only doing things differently — its offense is essentially unlike any the NBA has seen over the last decade-plus.

After a 110-96 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, the Heat are 9-6 and averaging 123.6 points per game — a top-three mark in the league. Miami is doing so despite averaging only 15.5 pick-and-rolls per 100 possessions — the fewest in the NBA by a galaxy or two, per Genius Sports. (The 29th place Utah Jazz, the next lowest, are running 44.7 pick-and-rolls per 100.)

The Heat aren’t only an outlier this season, they are a historical one. Miami is deriving the least offense from picks of any team over the last 15 seasons, per Sportradar.

Instead of on-ball screens, Miami is relying on pace (first in the NBA), off-ball movement and drives to the hoop to score. And it has revived an offense that’s typically been one of the league’s most plodding.

Yeah Biden literally did it when he sent weapons to Israel. Overruled a bunch of checks that were supposedly supposed to stop weapons from going to countries committing war crimes.

Now imagine if he had done something for student loans, might’ve saved the election for the democrats.

Not that facts are going to get in the way of an opportunity for them to disarm their enemies but:

Fact based education standards.

Teaching a bunch of lies about American exceptionalism and how imperialism is actually good isn’t what I’d call “fact based”

Stop racism in policing

Right like how democrats in nearly all major cities increased police funding and almost none passed any meaningful reform.

Expanded healthcare subsidies

But don’t remotely consider universal healthcare

Preserve democracy

Preserve the status quo which I wouldn’t call a democracy. A democracy enacts the will of the people, democrats don’t even have a democratic primary for their own party.

Feel like this is way more important than the spend.

U.S. depletes 15-20% of THAAD defending Israel from Iran.

Some back of the napkin math based on the article:

$800M at ~$15M each is ~53 interceptors. If that’s 15% of the global stockpile that means the total was around 353 and they’re down to about 300 and the article mentions Lockheed Martin can only produce 50-60/year.

It took Iran only a week to use up a years worth of interceptors. Not to mention the cost difference between the interceptors and the missiles fired at it.

This is not going to be an effective defense against any sort of prolonged engagement with a country like China or Russia.

Shit like this is so depressing. I understand AES states to some degree have to work within the current western hegemony to survive and build capabilities but I feel working with Israel is crossing a line.

China’s stance with them frustrates me even more since they’re even more well positioned to refuse.

I think having this post isn't a great idea because you are just assuming the websites bias are legit. At the very least there needs to be a lot of warnings in the bots post about the websites biases and the methodology they use so the reader can come to their own conclusion.

Just looking over the methodlogy it's clear that it has it's own biases:

American Bias

The website itself says it’s distinctions of left and right are US based which is very skewed from the rest of the world. There should be a disclaimer or it shouldn't be used in any world news communities.

Centrist Bias

The website follows the idea of “enlightened centrism” since if it determines a website has a left/right lean (again arbitrary) it affects the factual ratings of the sources.

Examples of this are: FAIR only getting the 2nd highest rating despite never having failed a fact check.

The Intercept getting only a “mostly factual” rating (3rd highest) despite their admittance it has never failed a fact check.

Despite my personal opinions on the pointlessness of using a US based left/right bias criteria I'd feel better if it was at least kept it it's own section but when you allow it to affect the factual rating of the source it's just outright wrong. The factual accuracy of the website should be the sole thing that affects this rating.

Questionable Fact Checking

Even just checking some of their ratings raises doubts on the websites credibility.

The ADL is rated as high (2nd highest) and wasn’t found to fail any fact checks.

The ADL was found to be so unreliable on it's reporting of the Israel-Palestine conflict it is considered an unreliable source by Wikipedia.

“Wikipedia’s editors declared that the Anti-Defamation League cannot be trusted to give reliable information on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and they overwhelmingly said the ADL is an unreliable source on antisemitism.”

Maybe Wikipedia editors are a good arbiter of truth and maybe they aren’t but as people can see there isn’t a consensus and so by choosing Media Bias/Fact Check you’re explicitly choosing to align your “truth” with this websites biases.

In one video, which has 30,000 views on TikTok, a young woman becomes increasingly exasperated as she attempts to convince the AI that she wants a caramel ice cream, only for it to add multiple stacks of butter to her order.

Lmao didn’t even know you could add butter to something at McDonald’s. If you can’t then it’s even funnier it decided that’s a thing.
