The Beatles (lemmy.sdf.org)

The Beatles on vinyl is truly something else.

I purchased an old clean copy for $30 recently. I never really cared that much for this album but of course it has good songs on it.

Hearing Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl was a singular experience and in my life, hearing the white album can be added to that list.

WOW vinyl for the win once again!

Ken Andrews is a great musical talent. The band Failure is amazing. This Year of the Rabbit was a side project during the time Failure was basically over. Ken was dealing with a heroin addiction, as the lyrics probably tell. Long story short, Ken kicked the smack and got his shit together but YotR didn't pan out. He later reformed Failure and the produced the best music records of their bands career (IMO) and are still making more. Plus Ken has had his part in so many big hits over the years. He is a true inspirational type of guy.

Still a fucking rockin tune and I just recently got a copy on vinyl and it sounds soooooooo good. I remember seeing YotR at a small venue in Seattle, seriously maybe 80 people in the crowd. They were so good. I chatted with the band outside after the show. It is a great memory.

this song gets stuck in my head all the time, the ending is so good. Its the last song on side A, which makes that last part even more epic

The Police - Darkness (www.youtube.com)

I can dream up schemes when I'm sitting in my seat
I don't see any flaws 'til I get to my feet
I wish I never woke up this morning
Life was easy when it was boring

I could make a mark, it weren't so dark
I could be replaced by any bright spark
But darkness makes me fumble
For a key to a door that's wide open

Instead of worrying about my clothes
I could be someone that nobody knows
I wish I never woke up this morning
Life was easy when it was boring

I can dream up schemes when I'm sitting in my seat
I don't see any flaws 'til I get to my feet
I wish I never woke up this morning
Life was easy when it was boring

I wish I never woke up this morning
Life was easy when it was boring

This song makes me think of the love I have for my wife, so of course I love it and the emotion of the groove. One of my favorites from the Toadies.

Biden is a good man. I would have voted for him again but he's doing the best thing for everyone, especially his family, by ending it now.

I will always respect him for what he's done.

I am old enough to remember when Metallica was a garage band and wasn't radio friendly.

The first time I ever heard them was a live bootleg and I remember Hetfield asking the crowd who was hearing them for the first time "loud cheering" then asking who was recording it for a bootleg "loud cheering and screaming" then he said

you better fucking share that shit with your friends!

I will never forgive them for what they did to Napster.

Like Vance’s quip about diet soda, this approach to criticism seems to stem from having absolutely nothing of substance to say about a subject, but giving it their best shot anyway.

Overall, the Republican’s performance was so underwhelming that even Fox News stopped airing coverage of Vance’s speech in the middle of his remarks.

oh that is funny!

It's ok not tolerating intolerant people.

Opera invested $30 million in the crypto startup ICST that same year, and the startup's CEO was arrested four days later for financial crimes.

LOL

I worked for the hospital system... I only remember dreading tomorrow and wishing for a moment to catch my breath. I didn't really get to work from home and I rarely got time off outside of my schedule.

It sucked! I didn't even get to enjoy other people's enjoyment 👎

He (the principal) said she was punished because she is the 'hood ornament' of the school."

Oh for fuck sake! This is crazy old fashioned bullshit right here.

I will probably buy an EV in the next year but I have zero interest in a Tesla. Musk is the reason.
