It's equally as bad when you discover you like something that has been around for a while and has lots of fans and you don't get accepted or realise you don't want to be part of the fans because of how shitty, toxic, dumb etc. they are. A relevant example for this is Assassin's creed for me. I never like any of the games until AC: Origins, even though I gave most of them a fair shake. AC: Origins is a 10/10 for me, I put in over 600h hours into that game, 100%'ed it and all its expansions/dlc. AC: Odyssey is good too, but I never got as into it, so a 8/10. Valhalla never looked good in any way so never even tried it. Started playing Shadows about a week ago and really enjoying it so far, not as good as Origins but mostly better than Odyssey. But damn do people not like when I mention this, like I'm not allowed to like it because I didn't like the earlier games. I have no issue with people liking them and not the ones I do, never said anything else. Music is a lot like this too. "Oh, you like their newer stuff? Fucking idiot, only the early stuff is good, I now see down on you as a person and hate every opinion you have".

I was broken from the start, but also lucky enough to be born in a country that gives me the help and time to find what's wrong and fix it without asking for anything back. Because my road to be able to work has been, is and will be long I have so much time to enjoy what I can (within the bounties of my illness) and games are a big part of that. Gaming has helped me so much, and I wouldn't trade my unthinkable amount of hours exploring these cool worlds for anything else.

A bit related to this, so many times throughout my life when I've mentioned I'd like to be friends with, take up lost contact with or just mention a woman has a currently present woman reacted like "you know she has a boyfriend, right?", "I don't think you're her type" etc.

It makes sense that so many men have very few or no female friends, because they experience exactly that. It's like many women have decided that all men are incapable of being friendly with women without it being about sex or more than friends. We get scared of trying because it'll just be misinterpreted as wanting to fuck them.

I used to love Kurzgesagt but I just don't like their videos anymore, and I'm not sure why. They definitely make the kind of content I enjoy, always did and still do, but when I try to watch any of their videos from the last 3-4 years I just don't like it. I also get this feeling that they are kinda smug about their popularity and how famous they are, it's weird.

Swede here, where is all the good genuine South American cuisine? If we're Venezuela we should at least get that.

US thing I'm guessing? Here in Sweden, we don't get much spam mail in the first place but you simply put a "no ads" sign on your mailbox and then only get the stuff you need. The 8 years I've lived in my current apartment I've gotten like 3 things that weren't bills and stuff I need.

I don't think you're supposed to eat the tube, shouldn't matter that it goes stale.

All I have is a 13 year old laptop, and I use it basically all day most days. It's plays music and movies etc with no issues. Cloud pc for gaming, which also works perfectly. It really doesn't like youtube, though, and it sounds like a jet engine every time system and app updates start to download. Can't afford to get anything better anyway. A friend gave it to me after it died on him and he got a new one, wasn't hard to fix. I cried when I got it because it improved my life a lot, just being able to do basic things.
