can you imagine being in the military and having to dress up as some revolutionary officer fancy lad. I mean any costume in general besides their current official really betrays how much theatrical BS dominates the military.

it's like some sergeant bozo comes in wearing all his dress shit for like parade shit, but it has all his specific ribbons and awards, and he is proud of it because all his boys wear the same shit yadda yadda, and it's only tweaked every few years so there's some continuity to it being The Uniform.

and then somebody way higher up is like, "here's fluffy pirate shirt, white tights, pantaloons, big buckled shoes with high heel and here's a feather for your cap."

it's all heavy wool,.layers of BS, and now he's gotta march parade in fucking a DC summer. lmao, eat shit, welcome to the Disney parade, "hero".

You severely underestimate the amount of nerd ass soldiers who would jump at the chance to dress in culottes and powdered wigs

you might be overestimating how much of military shit is voluntary.

The USS Constitution, launched 1797, is still owned by the navy and staffed by navy personnel in literal revolutionary officer fancy lad outfits.

Aren't military parades a bit taboo in the US? Like they don't do it very often and I think it was Reagan who kinda opposed them or something

Either way libs will never shut up about it.

Sounds cool for the costumes, way to much effort when you can just go to a museum or something though

So, our draft-dodging president wants a $45 million military parade for his birthday, while simultaneously cutting essential services for veterans, because he considers it "wasteful spending"?

And Republicans still support this asshole? JFC.
