I'm 60 in 4 months so I have 0 sympathy.

“Oh noooo my prefrontal cortex is fully developed!”

[-] SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 2 months ago

As you grow you will keep appreciating the growing amounts of personal development

Eventually you think back to when you were worried about turning 25 and you'll think "why would I ever wanna be 25 again? I had so much less knowledge and experience back then"

[-] Monstrosity@lemm.ee 10 points 2 months ago

Then you shake yourself back into reality & remember, "...oh yeah, because I was hot & my dick worked."

~ 35 is definitely golden era … at least for men. Old enough to be in control of your body and emotions, but still young enough to have spontaneous energy.

On the bright side, I’m happy to report that I care a lot less the older I get.

[-] Mok98@feddit.it 59 points 2 months ago

It's okay it only lasts a year

[-] Jayk0b@lemm.ee 47 points 2 months ago

Next year I'm gonna be 30, I'm already browsing some nice coffins and Urns

[-] totallyNotARedditor@lemm.ee 12 points 2 months ago

This is the best time for you to start reading about lower back pain and how to take care of your spine

[-] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Also a good time to give up vanity for comfort. Wear flipflops with socks. Buy a travel squatty potty and take it everywhere in its branded bag.

[-] henfredemars@infosec.pub 8 points 2 months ago

Don’t forget those knees! I miss not being in constant pain.

Just wait until 19 buddy

[-] hansolo@lemm.ee 25 points 2 months ago

Child, please.

Enjoy those knees while you can.

[-] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 2 months ago

My brain broke a bit the first moment I realized that, if I had a kid the same age my mom had me (early 20s), that child would be over 21.

While I'm not old enough to have a 25 year old kid yet I do think my 30's have been better so far than my 20's were!

The day I turned 29 all of my joints started hurting forever.

[-] Bonsoir@lemmy.ca 24 points 2 months ago

You better enjoy it 'cause it's not coming back once you turn 26.

[-] MTK@lemmy.world 22 points 2 months ago

Don't worry! It's only for 1 year and then you are done!

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 18 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Ok let's trade ages. I'll take being 25 and you get to be 40.

[-] jenesaisquoi@feddit.org 17 points 2 months ago
[-] sexy_peach@feddit.org 16 points 2 months ago

It's going to be fine

[-] thatradomguy@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago

25? HA! Try 30. AND still being a virgin!

[-] quoll@lemmy.sdf.org 14 points 2 months ago

honestly 25 to late 30s is the best.

your an adult that can do whatever the fuck you want, not give a fuck what other ppl think and your body is still invincible.

every hole is a goal, find love and travel the world.

Me except I'll be 28 in 2 months. People constantly remind me how I'm getting closer to 30.

Like stop pls. I didn't sign up for this whole aging thing and it sucks

[-] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Eh, I'm actually in my 30's. It's quite nice!

Pov: You're leaving your youth behind

[-] JustAnotherRando@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

The optimal age is 28. It's late enough that you may at least be hitting a stride professionally (though don't stress too much if you're not), you've chilled out a bit from your earlier 20's, and your body (generally) hasn't begun to betray you yet.

41 here, I was there too. It's not that bad, just take care of yourself now. At your age I ate fast food, never exercised, and basically lived on caffeine, nicotine, and stress endorphins from working all the time. Now at my last check up, I'm overweight, my knees are shot, my back hurts all the time, and I have chronic acid reflux.

You are young enough that you can get a head start on aging, what you should do daily is exercise, eat healthy, and take some personal time/mental health time for yourself everyday to reduce stress. You don't want to end up like me and be facing a huge uphill battle to get healthy.

[-] ArtemisimetrA@lemm.ee 8 points 2 months ago

Ah yes, the old quarter-century crisis. We got another one here, Bob, send em the welcome package. (The welcome package is multi-vitamins and sore knees)

[-] Whateley@lemm.ee 8 points 2 months ago

I remember 25. I still felt alive and didn't have chronic pain randomly appearing in various parts of my body.

wait until you are at your 40s and things take about 10x more time to heal

[-] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 months ago

I’d literally suck the youth out of 25 year olds like a vampire to be 25 again.

If it makes you feel any better, the age you are right now is the youngest you'll ever be.
