Statement from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council

📌 Full Text of the Statement of the Supreme National Security Council (Translated to English):

The enemy has suffered an undeniable, historic, and crushing defeat in its dishonorable, illegal, and criminal war against the Iranian nation. By the grace of the pure and sacred blood of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei (peace be upon him), the measures of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei (may God preserve him), the jihad and valor of the fighters of Islam on the fronts, and above all the historic, enduring, and epic presence of you, the dear nation, from the very first days of the war — Iran has achieved a great victory and forced criminal America to accept its own (Iran’s) 10-point plan, in which America has in principle committed to: guaranteeing non-aggression, continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, acceptance of enrichment, removal of all primary and secondary sanctions, termination of all UN Security Council and Board of Governors resolutions, payment of reparations to Iran, withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from the region, and cessation of the war on all fronts including against the heroic Islamic Resistance of Lebanon. We congratulate all the people of Iran on this victory and emphasize that until the details of this victory are finalized, steadfastness and prudence from officials and the preservation of unity and solidarity among the Iranian people remain essential.

Islamic Iran, together with the brave mujahideen of the resistance in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and occupied Palestine, has over the past 40 days struck blows against the enemy that the historical memory of the world will never forget. Iran and the Axis of Resistance, as representatives of honor and humanity against the most savage enemies of mankind, have after a historic battle delivered an unforgettable lesson to them and have so thoroughly destroyed their forces, assets, infrastructure, and all political, economic, technological, and military capital that the enemy is now on the verge of collapse and disintegration, and sees no path forward but submission to the will of the great Iranian nation and the honorable Axis of Resistance. On the first day that Iran’s criminal enemies launched this unjust war, they imagined they would achieve full military dominance over Iran in a short time, and by creating political and social instability, force Iran into submission. They assumed Iran’s missile and drone fire would quickly be extinguished, and they did not believe Iran could mount such a powerful response beyond its own borders and across the entire region.

World Zionism had convinced the foolish American president that this war would finish off Iran, and that by eliminating this last bastion of humanity, they could thereafter freely commit any crime against anyone they wished. They dreamed of partitioning beloved Iran, plundering its oil and wealth, and ultimately leaving Iranians submerged in chaos, instability, and insecurity for long years to come.

The brave fighters of Islam and their courageous allies in the Axis of Resistance, though their hearts were wounded and shattered by the martyrdom of their Imam, relying on Almighty God and following the example of the Master of Martyrs, decided once and for all to deliver a historic lesson to these enemies, avenge all their past crimes, and create conditions in which the enemy would forever abandon any thought of aggression against beloved Iran and taste the full bitterness of humiliation and degradation before the great Iranian nation.

With this strategy and relying on an unprecedented political and social unity that had formed within the country, Iran and the Resistance launched one of the heaviest combined battles in history against America and the Zionist regime, and in this period achieved all the objectives that had been designed for this battle. Iran and the Resistance nearly completely destroyed the American military machine in the region, struck devastating and deep blows against the vast infrastructure and assets the enemy had built and deployed around the region over years in preparation for war with Iran, inflicted massive casualties on the criminal American army at a regional level, struck devastating and crushing blows against the enemy’s forces, infrastructure, assets, and holdings within occupied territories, and so thoroughly cornered the enemy on all fronts that not only did none of the enemy’s primary objectives materialize, but the enemy realized from approximately 10 days after the start of the war that it would have no chance of victory, and for this reason began through various channels and methods to seek contact with Iran and request a ceasefire. The noble Iranian nation should know that by virtue of the jihad of their sons and daughters and their own historic presence on the scene, the enemy has for more than a month been pleading for Iran and the Resistance to cease their devastating fire — but the country’s officials, because it was decided from the outset that the war would continue until its objectives were met, including the humiliation and exhaustion of the enemy and the long-term removal of the threat to the country, gave a negative answer to all these requests, and the war continued through today, its fortieth day. Iran has also several times rejected deadlines issued by the American president and continues to emphasize that it attaches no importance to any deadline issued by the enemy.

We now give the glad tidings to the great Iranian nation that virtually all the objectives of the war have been achieved, and your brave sons and daughters have brought the enemy to a historic helplessness and enduring defeat. Iran’s historic decision, which carries the unified backing of the entire nation, is to continue this battle for as long as necessary until its immense gains are consolidated and new security and political equations in the region are established based on acceptance of Iran’s and the Resistance’s power and supremacy.

In this regard, and in accordance with the guidance of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei (may God preserve him), and the approval of the Supreme National Security Council, and given Iran’s and the Resistance’s upper hand on the battlefield and the enemy’s inability to carry out its threats despite all its claims, and the formal acceptance of all the rightful demands of the Iranian people — it has been decided that negotiations will be held in Islamabad to finalize the details, so that within a maximum of 15 days, Iran’s victory on the battlefield will also be consolidated in political negotiations.

In this regard, Iran, while rejecting all proposals put forward by the enemy, drafted a 10-point plan and submitted it to the American side through Pakistan, emphasizing the following core points: controlled passage through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with Iran’s armed forces, which confers a unique economic and geopolitical position on Iran; the necessity of ending the war against all components of the Axis of Resistance, which will signify the historic defeat of the aggression of the child-killing Israeli regime; the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from all bases and deployment points in the region; the establishment of a safe transit protocol through the Strait of Hormuz guaranteeing Iranian supremacy under an agreed protocol; full payment of reparations to Iran according to assessments; removal of all primary and secondary sanctions and resolutions of the Board of Governors and Security Council; unfreezing of all Iranian assets and funds held abroad; and finally, the adoption of all these items in a binding UN Security Council resolution. It should be noted that the adoption of such a resolution would transform all of these agreements into binding international law and represent a major diplomatic victory for the Iranian nation.

The respected Prime Minister of Pakistan has now informed Iran that the American side, despite all its outward threats, has accepted these principles as the basis for negotiations and has submitted to the will of the Iranian nation. On this basis, it has been decided at the highest level that Iran will conduct negotiations in Islamabad with the American side for two weeks, solely on the basis of these principles. It is emphasized that this does not mean the end of the war — Iran will only accept an end to the war when, given the acceptance of the principles of Iran’s 10-point plan, the details are also finalized in negotiations.

These negotiations will begin with complete distrust of the American side on Friday, 21 Farvardin [April 10], in Islamabad, and Iran has allocated two weeks for these negotiations. This period may be extended by mutual agreement. It is essential that full national unity be maintained during this period and that victory celebrations continue in full force.

The current negotiations are a national negotiation and a continuation of the battlefield, and it is essential that all people, elites, and political groups trust and support this process — which is under the supervision of the Leader of the Revolution and the highest levels of the system — and strictly refrain from any divisive statements. If the enemy’s submission on the battlefield is translated into a decisive political achievement in negotiations, we will celebrate this great historic victory together; otherwise, we will continue to fight side by side on the battlefield until all demands of the Iranian nation are met. Our hands are on the trigger, and the moment the slightest error is made by the enemy, it will be answered with full force.

Supreme National Security Council

Congratulations, Israel carried out over 100 airstrikes in under 10 minutes in Beirut.

Israel needs to be dissolved. Completely. There can be no compromise with a genocidal state

The bombers will be taking off on Friday right as the NYSE closes.

5 days!! we should be surprised if Trump can control himself for 5 hours.

Will it even need to engage itself, when it has a nation rabid to destroy the whole region that will gladly accept the US' guns?

[-] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 93 points 3 days ago

The Americans are lying as usual. Do not trust them

[-] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 56 points 3 days ago

I hate this; I was nearly cheering but then I read the comments here and you know what? You're all right, there's no way our government's going to suddenly become honest overnight

Those points are fantastic IF we could honor our word, but 1. The government hasn't been deceptive for decades only to start being honest now, 2. Israel won't play ball and we will absolutely give Israel whatever they want

I don't believe Iran is going to simply be suckered in, I'm sure they must have some kind of expectations and safeguards but I can't fathom what they are honestly; I don't believe they're going into this expecting good faith on our part (a wise move on their part)

[-] Flyberius@hexbear.net 50 points 3 days ago

They've been forced to this point. If they break their word Iran can simply choke out the economy again. I'm hopeful that the US literally has no choice.

Video of PressTV News Reporter in Iran gives commentary on US acceptance of Iranian 10-point plan. She expresses disbelief that the US would agree to this.

[-] darkcalling@hexbear.net 42 points 3 days ago

Everyone should because the US would have no reason to do this. Trying to shore up the economy, bring troops to the region for an invasion without them being attacked, a feint to get them to drop their guard so they can steal the uranium then attack them again, etc, etc.

[-] dead@hexbear.net 43 points 3 days ago

Do you believe that the US is a paper tiger or not? The reason that the US would quietly concede to Iran's demands is that it does not have the power that it presents. If you believe that the US is made from paper, then that is the reason. If you believe that the US is not losing this war, then you don't believe it is made from paper.

Iran has demonstrated that it controls the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has demonstrated proportional attacks in the region to US assets and Israel. Iran presented a list of demands and they believe that US has agreed to the demands.

It was a mistake for Iran to agree to end the 12-day war last year. I don't think Iran wants to make that same mistake again. The press statement says that the war will only be over when the 10 points are implemented. If the US violates the agreement, I think Iran will punish the US and Israel.

[-] MLRL_Commie@hexbear.net 17 points 3 days ago

I'm very scared that they won't and will accept ceasefire violations, but I'm pretty hopeful they will respond harshly to the inevitable violation

[-] darkcalling@hexbear.net 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

It's salami slicing tactics again. They sign, zionist entity/ US do minor violations BUT Iran are you really going to throw away peace, no sanctions, trade, safety and security for your people by going nuclear and starting it up again?

Logically no. It was just one small violation so you launch a couple missiles at most and call it a day. They up the ante and do it again, bigger violations. Again Iran is asked are you really going to throw all of that away, you already accepted that other violation so just accept this one as well with a few missiles thrown back.

And on and on until they can try to goad Iran into what seems to be over-reacting to attempt to get more buy-in and legitimacy. This time Iran had the world on its side because assassinating the leader of a country and killing its school-girls are clear belligerence in a classic sense. Once Iran accepts and enacts peace, any reaction to provocations by the entity or US is not viewed through the lens of "US attacked them, killed their leader and murdered children" but through the lens of "Iran is over-reacting to and escalating thus is bad and hates peace!".

waiting for the liberal spin tomorrow along with fox/newsmax spin on it.

I dunno how much, I'm a dumbass after all, but I can't see much of this being honored. I don't think it would be honored under a liberal presidency and I really can't see it being honored by the current regime but like I said I'm a dumbass just read my post history if you need proof. I see the US weaseling out of it by any means possible. I would not trust anything a US government official utters.

[-] SickSemper@hexbear.net 38 points 3 days ago

These negotiations will begin with complete distrust of the American side

[-] Chapo_is_Red@hexbear.net 67 points 3 days ago

We'll see. I think this needs to be finalized and US-Israel could still betray Iran. A ceasefire is a chance to reload.

Key paragraph:

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 22 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I'll believe the war is ending when we see movement of military away from Iran.

[-] blunder@hexbear.net 48 points 3 days ago

Any reduction in the amount of bombs falling on Iran for any amount of time is a victory for humanity

[-] Leegh@hexbear.net 63 points 3 days ago

I'm gonna remain skeptical until the White House officially confirms this. I just don't see the US (and Israel) ever agreeing to all these demands which is tantamount to the complete surrendering of control over the Middle East. Iran needs to make them hurt A LOT more before we get to that point.

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 48 points 3 days ago

this describes an agreement to a "general framework" based on these 10 points and a two week ceasefire but not a general acceptance of the 10 points as posted above. given that the u.s. and its zionist entity have repeatedly engaged in exactly this sort of perfidy, where the status quo remains unchanged and the actual broader agreement is never reached, sanctions never lifted, and then attacked again later, do you think this is something different?

[-] dead@hexbear.net 44 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I think it all depends on how much pressure that Iran exerts. I think the US is actually being humiliated.

Iranian Supreme National Security Council statement specifies that the war will only end when the 10 point plan is completed. "Iran will only accept an end to the war when, given the acceptance of the principles of Iran’s 10-point plan, the details are also finalized in negotiations."

Will US try to weasel out of the agreement? Certainly. Will Iran allow the US to weasel out of the agreement? I do not know. Why does Iran have the upper hand? US can leave the region but Iran will keep attacking Israel.

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 28 points 3 days ago

i am very hopeful as well, i just don't want to misread this and get too hopeful. i think your overall point is the most cogent attitude. the u.s. will try to wriggle out of whatever but at the very least, they've backed off from threatening to attempt to murder 90 million people.

I think the US is actually being humiliated.

inshallah-script

[-] Leegh@hexbear.net 38 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Trump is just reposting what Araghchi said. He hasn't said he agrees to any of Iran's demands. Neither has anyone else from the administration. And the statement itself doesn't say the US concedes to any demands, only that the 10-point proposal (as well as the US' own 15-point proposal) be used as a general framework for further negotiations.

I just want to add that if Trump actually agrees to removing ALL sanctions on Iran AND withdraws all US military forces from the Middle East, while Iran gets to keep its enriched Uranium, I 100% guarantee he will get assassinated/ coup'd by the CIA/ Mossad. Dismantling 40+ years of foreign policy is not something the Deep State will tolerate.

[-] happybadger@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago

I gave it a night after the announcement before I tried to gauge if this would be a serious ceasefire or a US delay tactic to move more assets into the region/strike Iran through proxies. I'm definitely pessimistic about it now. Israel continuing to bomb and unilaterally deciding Lebanon isn't in the agreement is probably going to keep that side of the war going. They're also existentially tied to expansionism and war with Iran. Continued attacks on infrastructure, especially the last minute ones on Iran, still provoke tit-for-tat responses. The ten point plan's requirement for the US to leave the Middle East contradicts that and undermines the core thing behind the US empire, shitting back and forth forever with the Gulf States. That would be such a history-defining loss for the US, but a necessary point for Iran and its allies.

I'll agnostically accept that it's happening but long war still seems like it's so likely. At most this seems like it would serve the role the 12 Day War did, softening Iran's defenses for a larger war next year. Either the US just lost its equivalent of the British Raj and reserve currency status or this is just another cynical Gaza ceasefire.

I would expect this kind of statement even if Trump had agreed that he should be put on trial in Tehran. The most prominent trait of the American political class is an inability to admit any mistakes or shortcomings that might cause a mature adult to do some self examination.

[-] deforestgump@hexbear.net 41 points 3 days ago

Yeah I’m gonna say the US is not doing that. Iran is still currently sending missiles into Tel Aviv. Israel will continue to put their foot on the gas. We’ve seen this show before.

[-] dead@hexbear.net 25 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Seyed Abbas Araghchi endorsed it. Also PressTV is an Iranian public news agency. Maybe Iran is doing a strong arm tactic like Trump. I'm not sure.

This just feels like Iran is taking this opportunity to post the W while the US chickens out. There is no way the US agrees to any of this. But that won’t stop Iran from doing a little dance in the end zone.

Lots of Iranians in America do their paperwork via Pakistan as an intermediary, because the USA and Iran do not have official relations. Turkey is closer for most Iranians, but Pakistan has the more stable positive relationship with both countries.

Also in this case if you wanted a prominent and neutral nation that's close by, your options are Pakistan and India, idk about Egypt.
