"Two things can be true at once."
😮💨
That was the first one to come to my mind.
I feel like that one depends on the context. It’s okay if it’s saying that complex things/events have multiple causes.
It's ruined for me, I've heard it in the smug lib context so many times now that I can't hear it any other way.
"but they aren't" or "only one of these countries"
"Tankie" Never met anyone in real life that used the term but I know if anyone uses it online their opinions aren't serious or fully formed and can be dismissed.
Off topic but I'm reading a book where the author uses "tankies" to describe literal tank crews and I can't help but giggle imagining a bunch of red communists pulling up to help fight this sci-fi war
My brother used it to describe Jeremy Corbyn
If they're using it derogatorily, sure
Judeo-Christian values
Cultural Marxism
Calling women 'females'
I call these three the Jordan Peterson special
Calling women 'females'
The Grand Nagus will hear of this outrage!
When someone says females, I always hear it in ferengi voice... "What's this?! feeemales wearing clothing?"

Comrade thats not a "shibboleth" thats like saying "I love racism" is a shibboleth

These are all over the place and I know I'm missing some, but what the hell, here goes.
"mud huts"
"Goat herders" feels similar
"Underwater basket weaving"
I've mostly seen this one in the context of RPGs. Like as a synecdoche for a waste of ability/skill points.
It's used as a pejorative for college majors like philosophy or English.
European/Western culture/civilization/values
Totalitarianism
ruZZia and the other cringe natoist standard english shit they taught redditors to say in 2022
Misandry

The other day I saw some arma youtuber use the term "ziggers" to refer to Russian soldiers
White Tiger continuing to prove itself a documentary.
White Tiger mentioned!!!
Genuinely my favorite film
It's in my top 10. I think about it and that final scene a lot these days.
European/Western culture/civilization/values
As well as the more specific "[NATION_ADJECTIVE] values" variant.
Using "trans" as a noun
CCP
lmao. Comrade, the vast majority of Americans have never heard it called anything else and don't get the subtle grammatical difference between CPC and CCP. Please try talking to them first. The rest of the list is accurate tho
Fine, it's not a shooting offense, in real life, it's prolly forgivable, if I explain it.
Online... I'd be less charitable.
I have absolutely heard people use "CCP" while talking about the achievements of the CPC and how great China is.
Can you explain the difference? I only use CPC to mess with liberals and have heard its what the CPC prefers but have never been told why
Communist Party of China follows the naming conventions used with other communist parties. Examples include: the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, The Communist Party of the United States of America, communist party of Cuba, communist party of Vietnam, The Communist Party of Portugal, etc. That naming convention is simple. You have a communist party located in a country/nation/geographic region/political entity.
Saying "Chinese Communist Party" is meant to place the emphasis on Chinese which in English has ethnic implications. It's the vision of the party as some kind of Han ethnonationalist movement (instead of a communist movement located in China). Thus, they're foreigners in Tibet, Mongolia, Xinjiang, and maybe even in Cantonese-speaking China. The history of China as a political entity is handwaved-away.
It's a subtle difference because "Of China" and "Chinese" can linguistically serve the same function in English. It's not a purely linguistic difference, it's mainly the baggage with how the terms have been used.
CPC is the official and correct translation. CCP is wrong and the western media use it because they have already demonised the term.
I might be wrong but i think it's in part to stay in line with the naming conventions of communist parties elsewhere while also emphasizing national unity through "Communist Party of China" whereas "Chinese communist party" makes it sound like it's a more ethnically oriented movement (lending itself to western propaganda about chinese immigrants by implying legitimacy over the Chinese, not China). Calling it the CCP helps let westerners get away with criticizing the entirety of China while claiming they're only criticizing the government. Also they're probably aware that Americans are morons and CCP is close enough to CCCP that they'll react with cold war
Personally, I can't wait for the about-face in 5-10 years when US xenophobia/propaganda rhetoric softens on China and dipshits start saying things like, "well that was under the CCP. The CPC are the good guys!" as if they are separate entities.
Its from the Theses presented to the second World Congress of the Communist International, it was the standard to my understanding for members of the ComIntern to adopt this convention:
— 92 —
generally binding resolutions shall be passed only on such questions, on which such resolutions are possible.
- In connection with the above all Parties desiring to join the Communist International must alter their names.
Each Party desirous of joining the Communist International must bear the following name:
Communist Party of such-and-such country (Section of Third Communist International). The question of denomination of a party is not only a formal one, but it is a political question of great importance. The Communist International has declared a decisive war against the whole bourgeois world and all yellow Social Democratic Parties. It is necessary that each rank-and-file worker should be able to distinguish clearly the difference between the Communist Parties and the old official "Social Democratic" or "Socialist" parties, which have betrayed the cause of the working class.
CCP carries an implication that the party practices a communism/socialism that is “Chinese” in ideology. It presents “Chinese Communism” as being a school of communism, a la Marxist-Leninism or Trotskyite, rather than a Communist party of a particular country.
my own list

I actually had a positive interaction with somebody using the r word the other day after I called him out for it. I'm very open about being autistic. Most people can tell that I'm different socially but I don't act like a stereotype and sometimes they ask why. I answer. I do this, and the guy I'm talking (30s-40s cis dude) to is talking about how he got an Asperger's diagnosis as a kid and asked if I knew anything about that. I educate him on disability stuff for 30 minutes, he's genuinely interested in learning more for himself and the people around him.
Then at one point in the conversation, I'm talking about some fucked up thing done against disabled people and he just goes "Oh man that's so r******". Because of the conversation we just had, I didn't jump right to bad faith. I pretty much just explain some more history behind that word to him, and tell him that when he uses that word he's talking about himself. We've been talking for about a week after that sending each other book recommendations and he's showing himself to be a good comrade at heart with a lot of brain worms. Not saying this is true of everybody, but there is a very good chance that nobody had called him in on it and explained why it was fucked up to use that word.
I'm someone that's pretty vocal on this site about people misusing terms like insane, crazy, or sociopath, but also very vocal about giving people who use those words wrong grace. Maybes it's just where I live, but I see it as perfectly possible to pick these sorts of language "quirks" (for a lack of a better term) as part of cultural osmosis where I am.
I was hanging out with a friend of mine and a friend of hers. The guy was saying something like ".... and yeah I guess people could be like homophobic against like trans people... I wonder is that like actually a thing?" Our mutual friend was basically like "yeah it's a thing, so be conscious of your language/behavior..." (I didnt heard the whole thing)
The guy was like "yeah makes sense i guess, I don't really care if people are living their best lives for themselves and stuff" and that was that
Online is not real life
"Balance the budget" "Transwoman" "Parents' rights" "Law and order"
'Whataboutism'

"Open society"
Pure liberal idealism in theory, the most virulent NATO-NGO financial imperialism in practice.
The Open Society Foundation was literally founded by George Soros to, when you strip it right down to its core, try and avenge himself on China for not letting him destroy their currency the way he had done to other South East Asian countries.
Any phrase that is the title of a citations needed episode.
