This was a good idea economically buy a bad ide for every other reason

Oh shit, I had that stuff for the first time a couple days ago. Tastes awful. The only cocktail I could imagine making with this stuff is a molotov

Don't most grains do similar things? I know rice grains will puff up like that, and I've heard that it's believed that was sort of the original way of cooking wheat before containers to boil them into porridge in were invented, just getting the seeds hot enough that they puff up and become soft and edible.
