As little regard as I have for liberals or their beliefs and opinions at this point in my life, it still produces this little pang of irritation to know that the democrats are basically going to do everything wrong in their campaign, self-sabotage to the highest degree, and then libshits will still just get mad at voters -- and especially arab-americans -- for not just falling in line for a party that backs a genocide and essentially tells the voters to suck their balls.

[-] Cummunism@hexbear.net 57 points 9 months ago

i can't wait to be blamed for Dems losing. Damned leftists, no political power but also all the political power apparently.

[-] GnastyGnuts@hexbear.net 59 points 9 months ago

"The leftists cost us the election, which is why we will continue not to appeal to them or offer them anything but blame when things go badly for us."

[-] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 36 points 9 months ago

Leftists wouldn't vote for us, so we lost. We just have to appeal more to the center next time!

When you get blamed you should own it to really get their piss boiling. They want you to feel ashamed for not doing the responsible adult thing and voting for austerity and genocide. Laugh in their faces and tell them that you'll fucking do it again if they don't make it worth your while. Tell them that the Dems have affordable access to your vote.

The ICJ has completely dismissed the right of Israel to defend itself during the preliminary ruling in the case of of genocide against Israel.

By the West's own rules based international order, Israel does not have a right to defend itself within the territories of Gaza or the West Bank. The Biden administration is going directly against the ruling of the ICJ with statements like this, as well as blatantly lying about the facts of the matter. As to be expected, of course, this administration is complicit in this genocide, after all.

In finding there is a plausible case against Israel, the International Court of Justice treated with contempt the argument from Israel that the case should be dismissed as it is exercising its right of self-defence. This argument took up over half of Israel’s pleadings. Not only did the court find there is a plausible case of genocide, the court only mentioned self-defence once in its interim ruling – and that was merely to note that Israel had claimed it.

That the ICJ has not affirmed Israel’s right to self-defence is perhaps the most important point in this interim order. It is the dog that did not bark. The argument which every western leader has been using is spurned by the ICJ.

Now the ICJ did not repeat that an occupying power has no right of self-defence. It did not need to. It simply ignored Israel’s specious assertion.

Does Palestine have the right to defend itself?

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 39 points 9 months ago

No jack city, jack.

The joke makes no sense but it still makes me laugh if I hear it in Biden's voice.

He doesn't give a shit if he wins. His final mission in life is to exterminate palistinians.

The world will remember this. And then probably commit another atrocity at an even greater scale.

[-] ProfessorAdonisCnut@hexbear.net 27 points 9 months ago

He can't undo bussing at this point, causing insane levels of suffering in Gaza is his last chance to honour Strom Thurmond's memory

Your choices are Full Strength Imperialism and Extra Strength Imperialism, they're both made in the same Imperialism Factory, and you're a foreign agent if you don't want any. We are the greatest country on earth. Go back to the office, the landlords' bottom lines aren't as high as they're meant to be.

[-] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 58 points 9 months ago

This coupled with the 2 Muslim women being thrown out of Kamala's rally for no reason (read: wearing Hijabs) the other day, I don't think they're even trying to hide it.

Why are they going this far to the mat on their messaging and optics about this?

Obviously the US is always going to support its #1 vassal in the region. Its actions will always be to support Isreal in ots canpaign of apartheid and genocide. That's what they've been doing for decades.

But usually they play this game of looking like they almost kind of care about Palestinians. Not in a material way, but just in messaging and optics. Like what's to be lost in not going full ghoul just in a press conference?

I'm glad their message is matching their actions for once so it can radicalize some people on this, i just don't get what's in it for them?

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 34 points 9 months ago

i just don't get what's in it for them?

I made a similar comment about 30m in this thread.

...Pretending is most of dem messaging. It's a weird level of arrogance and laziness for the people in his administration. It's even more true for her because it's her official job to lie and spin to the media. On top of all of that it's an election year and even worse it's a dicey one for them. Every iota of good will is needed. Yet the Biden administration is acting like Biden is up double digits in the polls and they're sloppy and lazy because of it.

I don't get it.

[-] Tankiedesantski@hexbear.net 33 points 9 months ago

My only reasonable explanation is that Biden staffers are so sick of working for Biden that they're deliberately trying to Hillary the election.

If you watch the video, it’s some wishy washy nonsense about how “the president is heartbroken about the suffering of innocent Palestinians” and the “conflict” is tragic. They’re not going full ghoul.

[-] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 23 points 9 months ago

Yeah but they don't seem to get how no one's buying their bullshit or believes their crocodile tears anymore

[-] robinn_IV@hexbear.net 22 points 9 months ago

I don't get why they don't just pretend they are going to talk to Israel and tell them to ease off and then not do anything. This is all that is needed to get the average lib's interest to fizzle away. The king of England paid lip service before Christmas and my older Muslim family members were so happy that he was speaking truth to power yea

[-] EnsignRedshirt@hexbear.net 49 points 9 months ago

What really speaks to the US government’s total lack of legitimacy is that not only is Biden going to tell these voters that he’s not going to change policy on Israel under any circumstances, he’s also not going to offer them anything else.

[-] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 47 points 9 months ago

Wrong. Zionists who start a small business in Gaza will have their student loans forgiven. This will bring innovation to the Palestinians.

Can't even be bothered to say some shit like "we see you, we hear you". Biden has the excuse of severely declining cognitive ability, but what's everyone else in his administration's excuse?

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 32 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

That's a good question. Pretending is most of dem messaging. It's a weird level of arrogance and laziness for the people in his administration. I live in Michigan and the moneybeg spam texts have been relentless and I'm telling them all to piss off on supporting their genocidal warmonger.

[-] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 41 points 9 months ago

Is he trying to lose the election? Michigan's a swing state, and the Arab-American vote is a core Dem bloc.

[-] edge@hexbear.net 33 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

iirc Biden’s margin in Michigan in 2020 was smaller than the number of Muslim voters that voted for him. By alienating a single demographic, he’ll lose the state.

If he loses the election, it will have been entirely an unforced error on his part. Of course Democrats will never acknowledge that though.

[-] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 29 points 9 months ago

He won by 150,000 votes, and Michigan has ~240,000 Muslims that can legally vote. A lot of them probably won't vote, just like how most people won't vote in general, but according to polls 83% percent of them voted for Biden (64% nationally, interestingly, but it was different groups doing the polling). If he lost the Muslim vote, he would have to have every other demographic stay at the same level of support as 2020 to pull a win, but support for Biden is pretty low in general.

[-] BoxedFenders@hexbear.net 24 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

They're going to scold Muslim voters for the next 4 years and tell them they're the reason Trump is president.

[-] FakeNewsForDogs@hexbear.net 15 points 9 months ago

If he somehow outlives “genocide joe” as a nickname, “earth rider” is a strong contender for its replacement. We can say shit like “ride on, earth rider” when he finally croaks. I guess he deserves worse, but it’s pretty fucking funny.

[-] Poison_Ivy@hexbear.net 27 points 9 months ago

They do this because they have enough Blue MAGA dumbfucks to keep the Right wing Dems in power, and who will turn around and blame the victims of genocide and their families for not voting for Biden hard enough instead of once again turning inwards and analyzing what they did wrong.

Its all a jobs program for the Democrats, they'd rather run an NGO than be in power.

[-] HumanBehaviorByBjork@hexbear.net 27 points 9 months ago

discussions are uh on going and i have assurances from prime minister netanyahu that ah well you know

[-] Hohsia@hexbear.net 22 points 9 months ago

As a liberal, I often wonder how Andrew Jackson could’ve behaved so vile and continued to receive support regardless. Truly, an awful human being and supporter of genocide.

Anyway, democracy’s on the ballot, be sure to pledge your support and vote for Joe Biden!

[-] Kaplya@hexbear.net 19 points 9 months ago

How could an entire nation keep quiet while Hitler was rounding up Jews and communists and other minorities for extermination?

The silence of liberals is always deafening.
