Woke up to a breakup text, still processing that. Was my day off so I went with a family member to watch a trial they were working on, and went to a bar afterward. Been scrolling tiktok while I should be studying ever since. Riveting day lol

Had no idea.

I did practice some... self-love... though, so, at least I did my required holiday duty.

Went to my kid's school's Valentine's Day party and watched him play some silly dexterity games and eat cookies, later on after he was asleep my wife and I had little cakes and watched Scavenger's Reign.

I made mac and cheese and took a nap and now I'm gonna take some edibles alone because unfortunately I am the girlfriend who lives in Canada so you wouldn't know her.

Took off because I was mentally unable to function and am lucky enough to have a good number of PTO days. Spent most of the day unconscious. Hoping to become unconscious again soon.

Went to overpriced Italian food with my wife. It wasn't bad but anyone with basic cooking knowledge can whip up something for 1/4th the price and have it turn out better, which is why I hate going out to Italian places. Also brought my wife a gelato after I picked her up from work.

Class and studying mostly but towards the end of the day I got my girlfriend some flowers and her favorite snacks and went over to her house. She's an artist and knows a bit about floral design so she arranged the bouquet into something much nicer.

After my shift, my girlfriend and I went for a lovely dinner

Spent 8 hours in the wage cage. Went to my dentist (she's a woman so technically I wasn't alone on Valentine's ). Took a walk back to the apartment and played The Ascent, it was a great time. I'm actually stoked to be volcel right now so it's all good

Being thankful the 2 and a half month (yes, the nearby stores here had that shit up the week after Christmas) stretch of National 'make all single people feel awful about themselves' Day is finally over for the year... until next year rolls around...

With Covid.
Visited my mom for the weekend, got sick on monday, called to check up on her... "Oh yeah I had been feeling under the weather with some covid-like symptoms all week, but I just took some Tylenol so we could hang out."
I couldn't even lecture her for it anymore, this is like the third time... She didn't even think to tell me this time. I'm pissed, I've spent my whole holiday on being sick.
Ever since the lockdowns she just hasn't taken basic disease courtesy seriously. She also kept asking if she should come by or if I wanted to come and stay at their place. I had to point out several times that I HAD COVID. It makes me so tired.
She means well by it too, she just wants to see her kids, and we live in one of those countries that proudly declared "COVID IS OVER" and that it's now just a flu-like disease. The thing is, she used to isolate when she had the flu. Not anymore.

Went to work, went to the auto shop to pick up our newly repaired and inspected car, dried and folded a shitload of laundry, played cards with the kids and went to bed early because I'm beginning to have a cold.

I'm not celebrating another American holiday. I'll buy my partner flowers another day because I want to, not because some yankiephile advertising pervert tells me I have to.

I relapsed.

Filling out lease paperwork and picking up cashier's checks. Me and my wife are separating. I'm moving into an apartment in March. Happy Valentine's Day!
