if i had a $2.3 million salary, i could also retire in 1 year and i would be probably pretty jazzed about it.

Tbf I would have to consider continuing to work and just sending 100% of my salary to the maoists in the philippines.

"To ease his boredom, Hy threw himself into side projects. He blogged, hosted networking parties, and played around with various kinds of productivity software."

Played with various kinds of productivity software? Like he made Jira tickets in his free time for fun?

When he had saved enough money to last at least 18 months, he quit his job.

Wow how come I never thought of doing that?

Also here's a blog post where he praises Jeff Bezos: https://archive.ph/Puc0s

:gulag: for the person who wrote the article, their editor, and the subject of the article.

Wtf do you mean "he had to save for 18 months", he was making $4k per day.

One year of this dipshit's salary would pay for my partner's, children's, and our surviving parents' expenses for the next 40 years. Maybe 30 if we want to live extremely comfortably. With none of us working, ever.

"Had to save for 18 months"? Fuck you.

He probably only saved a modest amount after income tax, paying 4 mortgages, 6 Ferrari payments, and spending 5000 every month on 10 course dinners

He didn't even retire early, he apparently works 30 hours a week on his weekly newsletter and whatever the fuck "management coaching". Imagine having a seven figure salary and still having to pretend that you're being productive lmao.
