While I love the background, the cluttered mass of icons makes my eye twitch. A modicum of organization, please.
The only perfect background is to disable all icons and keep it black
Okay, Patrick Bateman
I run a Windows operating system on an m.2 SSD on the latest generation AMD CPU and GeForce graphics card. My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of my operating system and a balanced power profile and rigorous maintenance routine. In the morning if my game is a little laggy I'll put on a memory optimisation program while running benchmarks. I can score 1000 now. After I remove unused programs I use a file clearing tool such as CCleaner. On the desktop I audit all my shortcuts , remove any I haven't opened for a while and sort the rest into folders. Then I apply any driver or software updates before powering off my PC which I leave off for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use a keyboard cleaning wipe with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your fingers out and makes you type slower. Then screen cleaning, then wiping down my desk mat followed by a final system boot.
I see a background
And I want it painted black
No icons anymore
I want my desktop black
Same. I would go insane with a desktop like that.
The icons made your eyes twitch, but the Vista didn’t?
The lesser of problems, I'd wager. Managed to bypass Vista... and 8. shudders
Lol, dude should just slip in some skinned-up Linux Mint. Dad’s mind would be blown because OMG it’s so fast now!

(currently daily driving this)
You're sure it's not 7? I loved the glass that 7 had.
The task bar on 7 Looked Way better
Hah, as if you'd ever see the icons behind the millions of things I have running
Bonus point if you replace Chrome with Mozilla!
Insallah my brother in the Firefox jihad
Just change the icon to the chrome ones.
firefox, and get an adblocker on it
It looks like he has chrome pinned to his task bar in the bottom left.
There is also a second desktop icon in the upper left, in the 3rd column.
Cool picture. But Chrome? Why?
It's like a "water this way" sign in the middle of a desert. The better solution is to get Librewolf and replace the icon with a Chrome one.
Right click desktop, create new, folder: Junk
Drag drop everything but that chrome icon into Junk.
If you really wanted to have a good time, you could screen-shot everything as is and make that the desktop, then put all the real shortcuts into a folder on the desktop anywhere and watch the fun ensue
Eta: for extra entertainment, don't forget to hide the Taskbar
Instead of fixing the symptom, maybe you could address the underlying problem of all that clutter on the desktop. ….or pin it somewhere it won’t be encroached by new files
It's pinned to the taskbar. If my own father is anything to go by, trying to clean up their desktop is a futile and temporary effort.
There are at least twice as many icons s on his desktop as on mine!
It is pinned to the taskbar
Also the first icon in column 4
All of those files look very important and need to stay where they are...
Most of the time my desktop is covered, so I use folders on the toolbar
What in the world
That's pretty funny! Thanks for making me smile.
Legit makes my day to make someone smile :)
Didn't think about icons being on a grid, eh? Whoever made this had to turn it off to place the Chrome icon there. Amateur move
Can you share the background?
Here - you should be able to download the full res by clicking "Download the original image"
Woop
That's awesome - nice work!
