Look, I came for an argument. This isn't an argument!

[-] Infernal_pizza@lemmy.world 18 points 4 months ago
[-] general_kitten@sopuli.xyz 8 points 4 months ago
[-] Mango@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

Actually we're all mutually participating in a satire thread! Fite me!

[-] DandomRude@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

It's the best argument, tremendous, irrefutable.

[-] Cfrolich@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

It’s the worst argument because you’re in it!

[-] DandomRude@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

There is no point in arguing about that

[-] PrimeMinisterKeyes@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago
[-] potat@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 months ago

What is even happening in this gif

[-] rustyfish@lemmy.world 45 points 4 months ago

Don’t feel bad for blocking the worst offenders. Lemmy is small enough for that option to work quite well. Which is the best you can do. Being ignored drives them crazy.

[-] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 32 points 4 months ago
[-] rustyfish@lemmy.world 23 points 4 months ago

You motherfucker…

[-] Zwiebel@feddit.org 10 points 4 months ago

Actually there's more than enough people on lemmy

[-] sleen@lemmy.zip 7 points 4 months ago

Yep agreed. Everyone's views are different, and there is definitively going to be some opposition.

[-] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 11 points 4 months ago

I don't mean to be memey, but personally I find the "hive mind" here to be way more homogeneous than on reddit. Unless you count different engineering fields as different viewpoints. There are way fewer creatives and trades here. And the engineery types like to pile on to any point of view that doesn't match their world view.

[-] rbos@lemmy.ca 5 points 4 months ago

You definitely do have to work harder to find more diverse viewpoints here. It's a bit of a chicken and egg problem. At least on mastodon you can specifically follow people who talk about things outside your realm of experience.

[-] Technus@lemmy.zip 38 points 4 months ago

It's called "engagement", sweaty, deal with it

/s

[-] gregor@gregtech.eu 16 points 4 months ago

"Sweaty"? I believe you mean "sweety".

[-] Technus@lemmy.zip 35 points 4 months ago

(That's part of the joke.)

(Unless you're also saying that to be a contrarian, then well played.)

[-] gregor@gregtech.eu 28 points 4 months ago

Uhhhhh yes I absolutely meant that as a contrarian, I 100% am not seriously correcting you

[-] meowMix2525@lemm.ee 5 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Look up "thebootydiaries tumblr sweaty" and give the images that come up a brief scroll. I'm not very creative so I'm just gonna tell you that we can do this all day.

(edit: I've realized you probably already know about this and I'm the one missing the joke but i saw a brief opportunity to contribute and took it so I'm not taking it down.)

Them and the weasels are the worst:

[-] hungryphrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 4 months ago

when I saw this I thought "what does this guy have against weasels??" before realising that this wasn't an anti-weasel comment

[-] Hugh_Jeggs@lemm.ee 4 points 4 months ago
[-] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 3 points 4 months ago

Thanks, I made it to respond to some persnickety dick cheese on here.

[-] hungryphrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 23 points 4 months ago

[-] Vuraniute@thelemmy.club 5 points 4 months ago

[-] Xylight@lemm.ee 21 points 4 months ago

What's the origin of this photo? It looks really cool.

[-] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago

I think it is a free diver sitting on the edge of a blue hole.

I once said that children who steal can be rehabilitated or taught to be productive members of society.

Downvoted to oblivion while everyone else celebrated the death of 3 kids because "all thieves deserve to die".

[-] MBM@lemmings.world 7 points 4 months ago

With statements like this there's almost always some context left out, but even in the best case this feels like cheering on the death penalty

"The world could be a better place"

NO IT COULDN'T!!

[-] Draegur@lemm.ee 15 points 4 months ago

you can sense the change in air pressure as several walls of NUH-UH are rapidly approaching your position to explain in excruciating detail why and how the point you made wasn't nearly as reasonable as you believed it had been. or just yell at you a lot >_>;

[-] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 months ago

NUH-UH is lemmys catch phrase.

[-] dmalteseknight@programming.dev 11 points 4 months ago

Anytime Marxism is mentioned on Lemmy.world

[-] ssm@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Any time you point out the DNC is only slightly less evil than the GOP and that voting or otherwise working inside the system isn't the solution to save America and instead just delays the inevitable

[-] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 months ago

That's a struggle session in the making.

[-] carl_marks_1312@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 months ago

Anytime AES states are mentioned in a way that doesn't align with US foreign policy. (It's a wonderful study of hegemony in action)

[-] sirico@feddit.uk 4 points 4 months ago

Where's your evidence? Not mine I'll just ghost the reply

[-] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

What about the exception-makers. They agree…sorta, but always have to carve out a little spot for them to be more right, or you wrong, in an often irrelevant way.

[-] Rev3rze@feddit.nl 8 points 4 months ago

Well, actually, exceptions can be important to lend blanket statements some nuance. Wait, I'm doing it right now, aren't I?
