Stop resisting!

[-] WhyFlip@lemmy.world 49 points 21 hours ago

They're working tirelessly to find the perpetrators.

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 8 points 20 hours ago

I could just kiss you.

[-] Etienne_Dahu@jlai.lu 29 points 23 hours ago

All because the wheels were black.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 20 points 23 hours ago

Ah yes, forfeiture of their assets. This sounds familiar somehow...

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 6 points 21 hours ago

Those tires are criminals.

[-] Hydra_Fk@reddthat.com 1 points 8 hours ago

Tires can't be criminals, they are inanimate objects. Only humans and some higher intelligent animals can break the law.

[-] Snowclone@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

You'd think that but in the American legal system corporations are civil rights bearing people, you're not related to your parents unless you maintain the same address, and objects can be suspected and tried for criminal acts and assumed guilty until proven otherwise.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 6 points 21 hours ago

They should have complied with the road.

[-] Hayduke@lemmy.world 240 points 1 day ago

The department is working tirelessly to apprehend the criminals.

[-] CuriousRefugee@lemmy.ml 133 points 1 day ago

"Stop laughing," the department chief said in an interview with WLMY. "This is a wheel problem for us."

[-] thefartographer@lemm.ee 45 points 1 day ago

The officers have been reviewing security footage before beginning material investigations so that they can hit the ground running.

[-] anubis119@lemmy.world 43 points 1 day ago

They aren't having a goodyear anymore.

[-] FigMcLargeHuge@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 day ago

As to the suspects, at this time we are keeping our opinions unbiased.

[-] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

But they keep shifting their stance

[-] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Eventually their investigation will come to a skidding halt, as they are burning rubber trying to find the suspects.

[-] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

might take awhile, the wheels of justice turn slowly.

[-] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 31 points 1 day ago

After six months the tires are sent to the city dump.

City Waste Landfill? City Police Precinct? Easy mistake when all these departments just look the same, you know.

[-] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 33 points 1 day ago
[-] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 70 points 1 day ago

Return just the wheels, the tires need to be examined further and will take an additional 6-18 business months

[-] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 37 points 1 day ago

Just cut them open, plenty of smugglers put bricks of product inside.

[-] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

smells like they're trafficking bricks of justice in those tires.

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 47 points 1 day ago

They weren't stolen .... they can be fetched and returned from their last known location in Afghanistan

Based and Legalism Pilled

[-] Dot@feddit.org -3 points 1 day ago

Unpopular opinion, but doing that means only that taxes that is paid by residents of the city is going to cover paying for that instead of paying for any thing more useful.

You can't call for anarchy while living in a regulated system.

[-] Mnemnosyne@sh.itjust.works 20 points 22 hours ago

It's better if the police budget is spent on replacing tires rather than purchasing even more unnecessary surplus military equipment which they will then try to justify using.

[-] NickwithaC@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Doing this saves lives, the taxes pay for the payouts in wrongful death lawsuits so this saves money.

[-] Dot@feddit.org -3 points 1 day ago

What is your logic here?

All of this would take maximum less than a week to be reversed and paid by residents taxes.

And this is assuming they done it on thousands of cars, which I believe is not really something that happen in real life.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 13 points 23 hours ago

All of this would take maximum less than a week to be reversed and paid by residents taxes.

That's a week less with fewer cops beating and killing innocent people. Maybe it's worth it to avoid paying taxes out to grieving families and disabled victims in settlements.

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 3 points 21 hours ago

If everyone just behaved, then my state wouldn't be harmful. You made me do this.

[-] InputZero@lemmy.world -3 points 23 hours ago

You're right, it is an unpopular opinion. Maybe keep it to yourself next time you decide to let your fascist flag fly.

[-] Dot@feddit.org 1 points 22 hours ago

The irony of your comment.

"I don't like your comment so maybe you should not comment again you fascist"

[-] InputZero@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

The part that really shocked me is that it got even upvotes and downvotes... Mask off, I absolutely admit that was a troll shit post, I didn't take it seriously but I also took it seriously enough to not add a /s. I expected to be downvoted to oblivion, I didn't expect it to be on par. That's a litmus test for ya.

Edit: Until I downvoted myself that is, now it's 6 up and 8 down. Seriously though, glad you pushed back against that.

Fascism is when people refuse to tolerate fascism on websites.
