I just feel sorry for him at this point. Not as much as I feel sorry for America, but I do feel sorry for him. When he dies, he will die not having known the best things in life. No true love, no actual friends, no peace. Money has not bought him happiness. Maybe he was born into a prison of his family’s making, but all he’s done is build up the walls and seal the doors. He’s a tragic, pitiful character rather than a beacon of strength or success.

Erm, make sure you put him in an actual prison too, though. Good luck, Yanks, your tea-drinking cousins still want the best for you despite everything 🇬🇧

[-] OldWoodFrame@lemm.ee 6 points 1 day ago

There's one wall he didn't build 👀

[-] el_bhm@lemm.ee 22 points 1 day ago

He is not tired.

He has nothing to offer beyond entertainment and fascist slogans.

This is an act so he stays in the media.

[-] Red_October@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

There's exactly zero chance he's passing up the chance to talk in front of a bunch of people because HE doesn't think he has anything worth saying. That shitbird LOVES to talk, not having anything worth saying has never stopped him before.

[-] auzy@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

He possibly is. I'd be unable to sleep too if I had a few criminal cases lined up. With Walz/Harris, there is a very real chance his life will slip away and he now has criminal court cases where he has no control.

Whilst judge Cannon won't send him to jail, there are lots of judges that will including the tax fraud case

Don't forget that many of his attacks are Hypocrisy.. He even fell asleep during his criminal court hearings. Sleepy Don...

He does that because then his followers think when people point out the hypocrisy they're just being unoriginal (whereas, it's actually the truth).

Don't be surprised if the guy has eaten cat or dog too honestly

[-] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Maybe he should quit his campaign

[-] Dkarma@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

He can't for several reasons

[-] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

True. He would be Putin a bad situation.

[-] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 246 points 2 days ago

He's just too old for this job.

How old is he?

He's older than Bill Clinton, and Bill Clinton ended his second term in office almost a quarter century ago.

He's older than Ruby Bridges, who was the first black student to attend a white school

He's older than the first commercially available microwave oven.

He's even older than the transistor.

[-] Nusm@yall.theatl.social 121 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

If Tim Walz served two terms as vice president, then was elected president and served two terms, at the end of his second term as president he still wouldn’t be as old as Donald Trump is today.

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

The transistor one really got me... The transistor made all computing possible. It's the cornerstone to all modern electronics.

Or, "the cyber", as Trump calls it.

[-] ZagamTheVile@lemmy.world 80 points 2 days ago

He was born before black people could play in MLB.

[-] ATDA@lemmy.world 55 points 2 days ago

The"again" in his slogan undoubtedly...

[-] EndOfLine@lemmy.world 49 points 2 days ago

He's been alive longer than Hawaii and Alaska have been US states.

He predates lasers, commercial jet airliners, and the pocket calculator.

He is older than presidential term limits and the CIA.

[-] hydrospanner@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

He's been alive longer than Hawaii and Alaska have been US states.

I mean...so is my dad...and he's not even to retirement yet.

I wouldn't have a problem with a (healthy, sane, responsible, democracy-minded) president in their 60s.

Hell, given those conditions, while I wouldn't love the idea, I'd be okay with a president in their 80s too.

But my main problem is that Trump ticks exactly zero of those boxes.

[-] jballs@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 day ago

When he was born, the Philippines were still part of the United States.

[-] ZagamTheVile@lemmy.world 49 points 2 days ago

He's two decades older than plate tectonics being even theorized.

[-] Letme@lemmy.world 37 points 2 days ago

He was ~30 years old when women were finally allowed to open their own bank accounts.

It's so great watching them try to roll him into the white house in a wheelchair, and he can't even sit upright in it anymore.

"Strongman" lol.

Vote.

God damn I've been seeing the signs I think you are referencing here everywhere and have been meaning to get a picture to see if they feel as ickily Orwellian to everyone else as they do me.

Trump

Safety

...

Kamala

Crime

Trump

Low Taxes

...

Kamala

High Taxes

Those are the two I see the most. The first one especially feels like something out of a dystopian near-future scifi.

There's one more, when I remember it I'll update.

Edit - oh yeah:

Trump

Secure Border

...

Kamala

Open Border

Yeah, those are the signs I'm talking about, basically

TRUMP
GOOD
KAMALA
BAD

They're just so fucking stupid, I can't believe Trump supporters aren't embarrassed by them.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was exhausted, this campaign is probably the most work he's done in his life. He's old, he's clearly in decline, and although he's fueled by greed and spite he may be becoming concerned that he's not winning as clearly as he'd like.

[-] rauls4@lemm.ee 28 points 1 day ago

I think he is driven by fear of imprisonment

He won't serve a day in prison. He's driven by fear of having to flee to Russia or Saudi Arabia.

How would he survive 4 more years when he's too tired to do a 60min interview?

[-] JustZ@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Four more years? I'm worried about four more months. Every month I am surprised.

[-] WhatYouNeed@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Am sure he would have done the interview if it occurred when he was playing golf on a course.

[-] Moops@fedia.io 114 points 2 days ago

Sure seems like he isn't capable of a job that requires him to work a full day every day. You know, like being President.

[-] knobbysideup@sh.itjust.works 45 points 2 days ago

He didn't the first time around. "Executive time". Golf. Excessively dumbed down then skipped altogether security briefings.

[-] breadsmasher@lemmy.world 43 points 2 days ago

He could find the energy to golf all day on tax payer money

10th Doctor: "Doesn't he look tired?"

[-] adespoton@lemmy.ca 61 points 2 days ago

He sure looks tired.

[-] Nuke_the_whales@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago

Remember soon after taking the presidency, he was bitching that the job was much tougher than he expected, now he's 4 years older

[-] vinylshrapnel@lemmynsfw.com 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Almost 8 years older actually

[-] barsquid@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

The fuck is he talking about? He used all the same golf courses as before. He watched the same TV... oh! He had a harder time flushing the toilets.

Remember when dimbulb donnie's stupid qult was telling everyone Hillary was one step away from being dead....in 2015 and 2016?

Wonder where these people are now?

[-] skeezix@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

I remember when Nostradumbass said he’d be running marathons when he was 80

[-] ThePyroPython@lemmy.world 55 points 2 days ago

Don't you think he looks tired.

[-] boydster@sh.itjust.works 36 points 2 days ago

He seems fragile, doesn't he?

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

sweepy twump, he needs a wittle nappy in between shouting that he wants to send the military after americans.

[-] Spitzspot@lemmings.world 47 points 2 days ago

He should bow out and face the consequences of his actions like an adult.

Weekend at Donnie's

[-] aramis87@fedia.io 35 points 2 days ago

I don't blame him - it's amazing how tiring a long shift at McDonald's can be!

I'm sure he managed to find the energy for the Saudi interview though right?

He's always got energy for investors. I'm sure he just sees Tulsi and RFK as tools that he doesn't need anymore.

[-] Linktank@lemmy.today 28 points 2 days ago

Just die already you old cunt.
