"we have no choice but to follow Reddits guidelines"

There's another choice, but that would require you to look past reddit.

[-] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 3 points 4 weeks ago

We will tolerate these beatings because we are still in love with the assaulter.

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 0 points 4 weeks ago

Hidden Donuts, why are you hiding?

[-] donuts@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago

I am? Or am I missing a joke here? Wouldn't be the first time

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 0 points 4 weeks ago

In Linux, putting a "." before a file/folder name hides it. ;)

[-] donuts@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago

Ah shit my cover is blown, never used Linux

[-] jballs@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 weeks ago

On Lemmy. Never used Linux. Your story doesn't add up!

[-] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 1 points 4 weeks ago

There’s no hiding it. They can tell by your socks.

[-] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago

Not that the mods are aware, but if Reddit disappeared tomorrow, I (sadly) suspect most users would go to Twitter or various Discords.

we have no choice

You are working for free moderating an obviously heavily censored shithole. You have several choices, starting with deleting your account.

[-] jol@discuss.tchncs.de 0 points 4 weeks ago

Reddit has come forth saying they will not tolerate mods that try to destroy communities like it happened before. If a mod deleted their account, someone else will take their place. If a mod deleted a popular subreddit, Reddit will restore it and ban the mod. Deleting their account does literally nothing.

[-] raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago

Deleting their account does literally nothing.

bullshit excuse. Deleting their account removes them from the equation, makes a statement that they are not enablers of the corporate shithole.

[-] jol@discuss.tchncs.de 0 points 4 weeks ago

Eh. Sure. But ultimately makes no difference in the matter. You can't make a statement when you're literally irrelevant.

[-] raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 1 points 4 weeks ago

Speak for yourself. Speaking up against what one perceives as wrong and distancing themselves from it is absolutely relevant. Using your logic, you might as well "not vote" because "1 vote out of millions is kind of irrelevant".

[-] LandedGentry@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

There is no reason for removing content like this unless an individual is specifically inciting violence, calling for murder, etc. just like always has been the case. Ridiculous policy and frankly worthy of locking down Reddit again.

Fuck Reddit. Glad I left that shit hole.

It should've been obvious by now whose side Reddit is on, but not allowing neutral reporting on Luigi's own words is a bit too establishment even for them

[-] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 1 points 4 weeks ago

You mean that the company whose CEO caused a diaspora of users with his profit-seeking behavior may be siding with CEOs and not with the CEO killer?

[-] Ascend910@lemmy.ml 1 points 4 weeks ago

Spaz gonna help his ceo friends

[-] Ferrous@lemmy.ml -1 points 4 weeks ago

FYI, the S word is increasingly seen as a slur.

[-] 7rokhym@lemmy.ca 0 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

If we just send all the offensive words into the memory hole then people will stop thinking bad thoughts about groups of people. We can erase it right out of history and everything will be better. Control the language, control the thoughts. Thanks Ministry of Truth! 🥸

[-] Ferrous@lemmy.ml -1 points 4 weeks ago

Bruh what. I'm not trying to control anything. Just offering an objective fact that you can use how you see fit.

The president can only pardon someone for federal crimes. Isn't murdering someone also a state crime?

Then he can't be pardoned

[-] Chewget@lemm.ee 0 points 4 weeks ago

Crossing state lines can make it federal

[-] IDKWhatUsernametoPutHereLolol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

Dual Sovereignty. Both the federal and state governments can separately try the case. Yes they have two chances of convicting him, acquital from state charges doesn't affect any potential federal charges, double jeoparty rules don't apply.

Luigi can get a pardon for either state or federal, but he can still face charges from the other one.

[-] surph_ninja@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

Yup. They permabanned me for saying I didn’t care when Trump said Liz Cheney should be shot, since she’s called for bombing millions of people.

So it’s not just calling for violence that’s bannable. Now apathy for violence against the rich is a bannable offense. Smells like panic to me.

[-] bigpapasmurf12@lemm.ee -1 points 3 weeks ago

I was perma banned for highlighting Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher should be denied the chance to move to Europe to escape Trump. Given they have deep links to PDiddy. A nothing comment, jumped on by emotionally unstable mods. It's the same on most of the subreddits. If you don't agree with their perspective, you lose.

[-] NastyNative@mander.xyz 0 points 4 weeks ago

Thats why Lemmy is the shit! If lemmy starts acting up I’ll move again.

[-] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago

.world already started unfortunately

[-] Blaze@feddit.org 0 points 4 weeks ago

A bit ironic, from a LW account

[-] CaptnNMorgan@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago

Is that ironic? That's probably how they know that's happening.

[-] Blaze@feddit.org 0 points 4 weeks ago

Indeed, but you would think that people would have switched instance since then.

[-] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml 1 points 4 weeks ago

Some people are busy living their lives.

I started on lemmy.world myself. Can't even post a CNN news article on .world without ruffling a mods feathers these days.

[-] taanegl@lemmy.ml 0 points 4 weeks ago

Ah yes, corpo platform suckling at the toes of insurance giants. Big surprise.

"But they are right! Murder is bad."

Fucking duh, but the transgressions of the US insurance industry transcends all that, because they are laughing at dying people all the time - laughing all the way to the bank!

Like there are so many documentaries about the evils of these bastards. One dead exec later and suddenly morals and ethics apply? Gtfo here.

[-] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 0 points 4 weeks ago

When somebody dies from an insurance company, it's sad, but it's the system working at usual. US society at large has decided that's acceptable. Even if you're opposed to it, it isn't a transgression of norms. Assassination is.

[-] Dkarma@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago

Capitalism: the murder is built in!

[-] thbb@lemmy.world 0 points 4 weeks ago

The french revolution was bloody. Today the whole world celebrates July 14th, the day a cheering crowd walked the head of the governor of Bastille on a pike.

Go figure.

[-] Polymath@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 weeks ago

Something I've been thinking about recently is how it seems that MOST national anthems celebrate a bloody war in some way, shape, or form, because that's pretty much what it always takes to escape from oppressors, is violent fighting back
