I mean the last 4 English month names are basically <#>month, but never got updated when the Romans switched from a 10 month calendar to a twelve month calendar. The suffix -ber comes from the latin word for month, with the prefix being the Latin number Septem = 7, Octo = 8, Novem = 9, Decem = 10. The two new months (January and February) were inserted at the start of the year throwing the naming off by 2.

July and August were originally called Quintilis and Sextilis so the 5th and 6th months and renamed after the calendar change, to honour Julius and Augustus.

So from some googling it looks like the biggest nuclear subs top out at about 30MWe of output, which is roughly the same as EDFs West Benhar wind farm (https://www.edf-re.uk/what-we-do/onshore-wind/) which has 7 onshore wind turbines and can power about 18,000 homes.

Subs reactors will also be designed around the needs to power the sub with will presumably have much different load requirements to commercial nuclear power station.

I'm also willing to bet it isn't exactly economically viable running it long term.

Slightly related but there was a time they used a engine as an emergency generator for a town https://youtu.be/FWYbD2ga8DM

Unfortunately Affinity just got brought out by Canva https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/press/newsroom/canva-statement/

Of course they are claiming oh no we won't be going subscription only, but if history is to be believed, give it a year or two and see that stance change.

Fairly sure the thermostat in my European house is in fact a thermostat. AC may not be common in homes here but heating sure is and needs a thermostat.

The price makes a little more sense if you factor in it also includes YouTube music, which puts it more on par with a premium Spotify subscription, with the benefit of no ads on YouTube. Which is basically how I got YouTube premium, I was already paying a monthly fee for Google Play music as it was at the time, and the upgrade to add YouTube premium was only £2 extra a month.

Do have to wonder (well not really it's going to be horrendous) what these people's response to a transman using a woman's toilet would be.

It was it said any key, not any button (although I have seen power keys on keyboards).

Would be a nice thing to have in the spec for the cable, as those ones aren't compliant with the spec, and can in some cases cause problems, like on disconnect it might be possible for one of the PD pins to short against one of the data pins before the side delivering power has had time to process the disconnect.

It's a pretty specific edge case and I'm sure not a problem most people have had or will run into, but would be nice if it could be part of the spec.
