The Canadian New Democratic Party put out a better statement on the issue than any sitting America politician did. And the NDP's statement still had to do the "we condemn Hamas but" about it. Meanwhile Bernie, Fetterman, and every member of The Squad (including Omar and I'm decently sure Tlaib but I could be corrected on that) put out awful shit. Fetterman's was especially unhinged to the point where Felix quote tweeted it and said "Next time you're depressed skip the hospital"

I'd say both are true. The left is actively suppressed on the platform AND the userbase is not that progressive (particularly on geopolitics) because of it being American-centric.

We're a radically pro-trans community. A purge of transphobes near the beginning was a formative moment for our community. We're radically welcoming of trans folks, so a lot of trans folks post here.

Also trans folks are disproportionately leftist (for a good reason, liberation for trans folks cannot come through capitalism), the idea that "tankies" would be majority "he/him neckbeards" is silly, if not actually outright transphobic.

I used to be very certain about the "Desantis is the effective fascist we warned you about" thing but more and more his buffoonery comes out, and I don't think he'll be president. That said, he's being pretty effective in Florida despite his buffoonery.
