Feudal lords are aware that they need to keep the peasants happy to maintain power. Modern capitalists are just giddy with excitement to liquidate as many people as possible to fuel their machine because they live behind 6 layers of abstraction.

You can't really abstract yourself from the problems as a Lord or King, you're the sole representative of the law (outside the church).

It's easy to organize against a Lord because they're obvious, it's harder to organize against an abstract body of capitalists because they aren't human.

When an executive action by the executive branch is blocked by the court, it's because the executive is spineless. Especially when that same court gave the executive total immunity and power in official acts.

If Trump or Bush ran into resistance from the courts, they would just go around them. It's a false barrier.

They're doing "clever" rainbow washing by forcing you to do the association with Skittles and rainbow in your head. It's the exact same as the rest, but they can't add the rainbow to their product, so they have to remove it instead.

Greenville and the surrounding area up to Asheville is like a hot pocket. Small areas of the most violent, cruel chuds, then everyone else who's usually pretty cool.

The chuds never come into the towns unless it's to harass the locals. They almost entirely stay in their suburbs or in the grocery parking lots.

but it goes no further than supporting gay/trans rights within the imperial core

Even that's a bit of a stretch considering we defederated with blahaj because their 196 instance was full of chasers and transphopes

The only positive is the influx of good users we've gotten over the past month. I think going dark again is a good idea since now we're the Lemmy Boogeyman and people know we exist.

If we keep new accounts application based for a while to keep trolls out, I think we can still turn this into a net positive.

Staying federated with some instances (grad) is good, but federating so aggressively is rough because while we're still the largest instance, we can't handle attacks from 50 fronts.

The conversation was you linking a Wikipedia article, I was at least hoping you'd link like a book or something. Like we could have a discussion if you were trying to argue against authoritarianiam as defined by say Bakunin or some other anarchist thinker.

Then I could respond with On Authority which argues that authority is a natural consequence of any organization and calling something authoritarian just means you're saying that it's a system that is able to successfully reproduce itself.

You could also try to link "authoritarianism" to fascism, but again that is pointless because there's already a term for fascism, which is Fascism.
