Isn’t meta already considered dead at birth ?

The metaverse (made by meta) is. Alternatives to meta's metaverse, like vr chat, and the technology in general definitely isn't dead

My kid loves his quest 2 still. He pretty much only plays gorilla tag though.

Meta? Dead!? It doesn't die so easily.

I mean from the point of view of only the social networks part as long as they don't fuck it up a lot Instagram is to stay for quite a while. And then there is WhatsApp which yeah isn't going away as easy as some people would want it to go.

I’m talking about Metaverse. That thing never found its targets. Companies bought space but nobody (customers) use it. Who wants some kind of another Second Life ?

[-] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

I'd use a well-done Second Life, but never if it's with the psychopaths at Meta.

I mean I would.... but still need space and to actually buy VR glasses some day. But yeah the version of Meta maybe not, something more open would be cool, something that worked like websites, everybody hosted it's own thing and they can be connected or completely isolated of the others.
