Maybe I'm wrong, but I unironically can't think of a time when it's wholesome to fly the English flag.

The only exception to the rule is this geezer:

At the World Cup a couple of years or so ago, another bunch of England fans started chanting pro Palestine slogans to an Israeli news channel, was a surprisingly good vibe overall lmao

This was from the FIFA World Cup IIRC.

I often forget that England has its own flag.

I think it's kind of neat how the Union Jack is composed of its member states' flags layered on top of each other. Of course, ukkk, but neat trick.

The USSR should have done something like that, or not, I honestly don’t like flags.

It's a little more difficult when you have 21 states. The USSR did a theme in the other direction. They took the USSR flag and added stuff to it to make the individual member states flags.

they could've done the barcode like that rejected eu one

[-] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 32 points 1 year ago

Wow, that is something.

I like the simplicity of the hammer, sickle, and star on red.

[-] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago

I love that technically it's a red star on a red background. The yellow star shape is the outline of the red star.

Acceptable times to fly the English Flag

[-] SoyViking@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago

When Ireland, Scotland and Wales are free, flying the English flag will be wholesome because it will mean there is no more Great Britain.

[-] Erika3sis@hexbear.net 16 points 1 year ago

When it's used to represent the English language, though I suppose that's more often icons on websites rather than physical flags.

On a related note, the only language that should ever be represented with the American flag is ASL.

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

I think amerikkka has utility for English (Simplified).

[-] Erika3sis@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago

No, no, I want to see Seppo hearies click their flag thinking it'll take them to the Simplified English page, only to be met with
