The democratic party must be abolished for any real change to happen in this country

[-] blinx615@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 hour ago

Now is the time for infighting, not in 4yrs

[-] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 2 points 1 hour ago

This isn't the end of Hogg. Frankly, I was shocked to hear that he was inside the DNC in the first place.

The fact that they can be bold and decisive when they feel threatened is actually encouraging. The problem is that losing America to literal traitors and Nazis wasn't motivating enough to act, but a smart 25 year old is.

We just have to make them fear us enough that they straighten out their priorities, and start working for US.

The democrat party cannot be reformed. It must be destroyed. As soon as libs realize the middle class isn't even being served by these antidemocratic ghouls, maybe we can have a real third party. I don't care if it's greens DSA or PSL (of course, PSL all the way) but as it stands the Dems are a death knell to progress

[-] TreadOnMe@hexbear.net 23 points 14 hours ago

Good luck. They are still excited to means-test social security. The libs are completely lost in the sauce.

[-] Adkml@hexbear.net 58 points 16 hours ago

Pretty hard to ignore the fact that fascists get strongly worded letters but people who say dems should do more than write angry letters get immediatly neutralized.

[-] XiaCobolt@hexbear.net 31 points 15 hours ago

They're getting Hogg out for a woman

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 points 1 hour ago

There's a Jacob Wysocki quote somewhere that's perfect for this.

[-] marxisthayaca@hexbear.net 67 points 17 hours ago

I’m begging activists, form a third party. With this much energy, just start a new party. Do not engage with democrats

[-] RedWizard@hexbear.net 9 points 6 hours ago

Do they even run candidates outside presidential elections?

[-] CutieBootieTootie@hexbear.net 11 points 6 hours ago

As conditions change and the capacity of the party grows, avenues of struggle that connect with more "disconnected" people like running in elections grows as a possibility.

This kinda happened to me at a workplace.

I tried to negotiate my salary when I began and they said they don't negotiate salaries because people of color and women are disproportionately less likely to negotiate than White men who benefit from the practice. And I'm like, but... I'm a person of color?? They wouldn't hear any of it. One of the worst jobs I've ever had.

[-] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 4 points 1 hour ago

They won't negotiate your salary for your own good. That's some 1984 doublespeak for you right there.

[-] TC_209@hexbear.net 28 points 12 hours ago

"So what you're saying is, we should all negotiate for our salaries together? What a great idea!"

[-] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 3 points 1 hour ago

That's exactly the proper response. If you can't negotiate individually, because it's "bad for the individuals," then negotiate collectively - "for the good of the company."

[-] Adkml@hexbear.net 73 points 16 hours ago

"It would actually be racist of us to pay you more."

[-] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 90 points 18 hours ago

Lmfao gotta love woke oppression

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 1 points 1 hour ago

It's corpo socialism using woke talking points as a cudgel.

[-] Homer_Simpson@hexbear.net 59 points 18 hours ago

This is like how car dealers have a no haggle policy and act like that's a good thing.

[-] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 1 points 1 hour ago

The first time I heard that years ago, I was astonished. Who would accept such a thing?

"Buying a car is easy at RipOff Motors! You just pay the sticker price, no haggling! Isn't that GREAT!"

I'm showing up on the 28th of the month with the dealer cost in mind, and a willingness to pay 10% above that. If you don't want to haggle, I'll just go to one of the 20 other dealerships within a 30 minute drive.

[-] Lussy@hexbear.net 35 points 18 hours ago

Wokeception

[-] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 137 points 20 hours ago

If David Hogg is too far to the left for the democrats then there really is no hope for the party, not even the remote possibility of reform

They can't stand for anything, not even the watered down lib shit like gun control

Republicans should be thanking their lucky stars the only people who disagree with them are the Republican Party’s moderate wing. I never want to hear chuds even whine about anything, not even non-political stuff. They are the most spoiled, undeservedly lucky demographic in human history.

And somehow even democrats are commandist ultras in amerikkka

[-] Xenomorph@hexbear.net 38 points 18 hours ago

And somehow even democrats are commandist ultras in amerikkka

"The United States is also a one-party state but, with typical American extravagance, they have two of them."

It's all theater, at the end of the day both d's and r's are in agreement over everything.

[-] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 2 points 1 hour ago

No, he's free. Now he owes NOTHING to the Dems, and can go on the attack. He's got a LOT of people in his corner, and there are a whole lot who don't know who he is yet, but will love him when they get to know him.

[-] BigBoyKarlLiebknecht@hexbear.net 49 points 18 hours ago

They managed to Hogg out AND log out, amazing

[-] PorkrollPosadist@hexbear.net 60 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

The American people are like a long line of desperate people waiting outside a locked restroom door to take a shit while the Democratic Party snorts lines of coke off the toilet tank.

Liberal Boomers: "Young people today are STUPID and LAZY they never want to do ANYTHING" ooooooooooooooh

Young Person: "I'm proactive and smart and I want to primary do-nothing inept democrats" sicko-zoomer

Also Liberal Boomers:

[-] roux@hexbear.net 39 points 18 hours ago

God damn are we gonna get a radical David and Greta in the same timeline? Thanks status quo!

[-] RumorsOfLove@lemmy.dbzer0.com 77 points 20 hours ago

"Let me be unequivocal, no DNC officer should ever attempt to influence the outcome of a primary election," -- Some deepstate ooze who insisted on running Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, popular opinion be dammed

[-] hotcouchguy@hexbear.net 43 points 18 hours ago

Why even bother with primaries? Just give every nomination to the most senior candidate who isn't vetoed by someone more senior. And then before the general elections, the most senior members of both parties can meet and pick which voters they want.

[-] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 28 points 16 hours ago

they skipped the primary for volcel-kamala

[-] ThermonuclearEgg@hexbear.net 30 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

the-democrat: That's a great idea, but we could save so much time by just letting the Republican candidate choose

[-] Archangel1313@lemm.ee 44 points 19 hours ago

Considering all the times they've openly thrown their support against progressive candidates...that statement should have made them burst into flames.

[-] OldSoulHippie@hexbear.net 46 points 20 hours ago

I wish I could not vote for them harder

Dems: elect leader then realize someone who won an election can’t possibly lead them as they’re not supposed to actually win elections “No wait”
