Why don't they have someone good at splicing at the justice department or the FBI or whatever? People catch Super Mario 64 speed runners for the love of the game. Why don't they have any giga nerds employed?

Because who is actually going to hold them accountable for this? There's no one who can actually get them to release the undoctored footage, they hold all the power here, and they have a huge number tools at their disposal for dealing with people who make too much of a fuss about things like this.

No one is going to carbomb the guy who checks for the Mainz hum on some SM64 footage.

I'd push back a little by asking if they're running around like they have a Mario star power up, why release anything in the first place? Seems like the news of Epstein simply having no records or interesting clients caused an outrage they're reacting to. Why react? Even if you can deal with people checking the footage by disappearing them, it seems like much more of a headache to deal with a bunch of people due to your obvious fraud than calling 2 or 3 people cranks because they did some incredibly intense analysis on your really good fraud

You're the Great Satan of States.

How about using some of those trillions of evil bucks to do a re shoot.

Are you telling me that multiple cameras didn't just happen to fail at just the right time to miss what happened? What's next, the two guards who abandoned their posts to take a nap together didn't just randomly get tired?

Pretty fun to learn how many laypeople still don't even know about metadata/exif data and post pictures all over the internet

[-] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 62 points 1 day ago

They fired all the people that remember to scrub metadata

this is what Government Efficiency looks like

You can also see the gap in timestamps to my understanding

we're clearly dealing with a highly sophisticated operation here.

c'mon y'all, exiftool -all= totally-raw-footage.mpg^[not sure I'd actually trust this alone for a video, especially for something this high profile, but like...at least try, jfc], it's not that hard

If you have any problems with exiftools they have a forum full of insane men who will help you.

Can I get a job with the CIA? I kinda remember how to use Adobe Premiere

If you can hit Alt+Enter on a file I think you've got a future as a Render Pipeline Analyst

When I first learned about the burgerking foot lettuce post on 4chan, I immediately researched exif data and metadata, and how to scrub that info before I posted anything. This is rookie shit.

Also, I'm not linking the post. You can find it pretty much everywhere

This reminds me of how the BTK serial killer got caught, lol but such incompetence from paid "intelligence" professionals.
