They aren't going to shut down the entire concept of dialup, just their service. Industrial shit just dials up directly, the same way you call your mom on the landline

Oh the days of roleplaying as Cloud in the anime chat rooms, where I learned how to type (even if I do a hybrid style of typing fast with index and middle fingers). Quippy away message on aim and grandma picking up the phone and kicking you offline.
