I would love to be a game developer meticulously tweaking my art direction for it to be overruled by some computer that doesn't even know how to think

and they’ve been gooner minded for a while.. from a 2023 article about the CEO:

I asked Huang if he was taking any gambles today that resemble the one he took twenty years ago. He responded immediately with a single word: “Omniverse.” Inspired by the V.R.-architecture gambit, the Omniverse is Nvidia’s attempt to simulate the real world at an extraordinary level of fine-grained detail. Huang has described it as an “industrial metaverse.”

The specialist then showed me “Diane,” a hyper-realistic digital avatar that speaks five languages. A powerful generative A.I. had studied millions of videos of people to create a composite entity. It was the imperfections that were most affecting—Diane had blackheads on her nose and trace hairs on her upper lip. The only clue that Diane wasn’t truly human was an uncanny shimmer in the whites of her eyes. “We’re working on that,” the specialist said.

I would rather see Grace than Emma-stone-Sydney-Sweeney-Aubrey-Plaza agglomeration

There's a real actress that this looks closer to this new character but I can't remember anything she's in and my soul can only handle about 30 seconds of scrolling "blonde tv actress" Google image results.

Obviously this is reactionary slop, but it's kind of weird because it doesn't add that much makeup compared to other yassifications and also makes her (I had to look this term up) nasolabial folds way more prominent and gives her a hint of (I had to look this term up) melomental rhytids, which makes her look like a decade older and significantly less doll-faced (the original design is nearly a 3D anime character). Imo the more prominent cheekbones also contribute to this effect. Also almost makes her look like she has exposed roots or something from how the shading changed her hair (though that's not actually what's happening) and it just darkened the shadows on her generally for reasons I don't understand.

Idk, the waifu wars are just really weird to me

I think there's a big split in the chudsphere between the pedophiles who think all girls are most attractive when they're 11 and the grillmen who think all women are most attractive when they're 37 with giant tits and a two inch thick layer of makeup over their plastic face

I guess Nvidia's catering to the second group with this one

Training data has loads of models and hair photoshoots in it probably. All of them will have hair with highlights and dye.

The lighting is also coming from photography, the faces light up like they're in a studio photoshoot even when they're supposed to be dark.

Makes sense, thanks

obviously the ai ingested all the thirsting over the 8 foot vampire lady and decided resident evil fans want milfs

[-] purpleworm@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago

Well, when I say she looks 10 years older, I mean that she looks like she might be 26 rather than 16 (but I suppose lots of people are mothers at 26, so your point stands)

This is the start of a meme.

I do wonder why one of these things doesn't just cut out the middleman and sell themselves as a "turn everything into porn" generator. The sort of person who wants that is obviously the market they're all trying to target, so I wonder why they don't just do that already. Is it due to payment processors being run by religious fundamentalists who hate porn or something?

[-] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 month ago

I think multiple slop generator CEOs threatened to do that already, including the OpenAI chud

[-] LaughingLion@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

the one on the right looks like shes done coke a few times so at least shes got that going for her

[-] The_Grinch@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

Don't hurt me please, but I guess I don't really see that it's "yassified" The only thing I see is that it made her lips a little bigger. It also made her look a little skinnier but in a more gaunt way.

I don't tend to microanalyze pictures of video game characters someone help me.
