I browse "All" most of the time and the Femcel Memes show up pretty regularly. It's not like this gif though. It's more like watching a super interesting science experiment.

"Ah, yes. I see. I see. How interesting!"

My scientific notes so far:

  • They crave cuddles. It's almost like a cuddle-based economy.
[-] EggInDisguise@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 3 weeks ago

They crave cuddles.

Who among us cannot say the same?

[-] Tonava@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 weeks ago

I can! I'm disgusted by other people touching me. I'm more like those shy cats that hide under the furniture if you try to pet them, and only come hang out next to you if you leave them alone

(and yes it's 'tism)

[-] GhostFace@lemmy.today 1 points 3 weeks ago

You can crave cuddles and be disgusted by other human beings at the same time.

It's called I have a person, and only that person may touch me. And the cat. The cat too.

I just took an NFPA 70E electrical safety course, and the instructor was talking about how electricians love to cuddle.

I thought it was weird for a sec, then I remembered the last time I opened an electrical panel with someone else nearby. Then I remembered every other time I opened an electrical panel with other people nearby. Then I remembered all the times that I was all the other people nearby.

Then he showed us a video of an arc flash with 3 people inside the panel, and then there was nobody nearby.

[-] gigastasio@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

Arc flashes are nature’s way of saying cuddle time is over.

[-] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 1 points 3 weeks ago

Not sure that i do. Those seem to be completely pointless and I'm always baffled why people crave those so much. Under good circumstances, after practicing those become completely neutral, but usually those are just uncomfortable.

Another note is that they seem to all be autistic, with many of them exhibiting symptoms of severe depression. Most are also trans lesbians. Many seem to be cat/fox/puppygirls.

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 3 points 3 weeks ago

Conclusion: headpats are in order

I don't want to upvote and intrude on their shit but they're funny

[-] somethingsomethingidk@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

I think you're fine. It's more of a vibe and if you identify with it you're welcome. As opposed to womenstuff that is very much exclusive.

[-] StarryPhoenix97@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

same! I love femcel memes. The lesbian ones are pretty funny too but it's the same thing. It's not my space to yap in, but I'm going to save that meme and share it with my friends.

[-] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

As long as it's ironic. Actual female incels are every bit as bad as their male counterparts.

[-] Chaunticleer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

pretty sure female incels have never shot up a school or massage parlor, but I personally don't need to put people on some kind of badness hierarchy

Oh these comments are going to go to helpful places I'm sure.

Joined Lemmy and was randomly adding communities. Started getting random memes coming through and that’s when I found out what a “bussy” was.

Somehow read this at first as “straight German man” and it still made sense.

It's been a few years since I delved into the Reddit side, but the femcel communities here are much nicer places to be than the subreddits. There's some feeling of independence and empowerment here, whereas the subreddits were always overwhelmed by insufferable idiots. They were truly the female version of terminally online incels.

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

I like femcelmemes and all the posters there. It’s like tumblr, but with fewer chips on shoulders

[-] gigastasio@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago

Oh don’t get me wrong, they’re a fantastic, mutually supportive community. I just didn’t realize what I was walking into at first. It was like entering a club I had no business entering.

[-] bigchungus@piefed.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 weeks ago
[-] brown567@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago

I was today years old when I realized everyone else in that picture is a woman XD

[-] SharkWeek@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The ioke in that scene is just chef's kiss, worth watching the whole episode for

[-] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

A lack of a proper fire escape is no joke, it’s a death sentence. Take things seriously.

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The first time I commented there, I tried to be courteous in the way I usually was on tumblr. People responded kindly, but read a bit confused. I quickly realized that the club was open to all. (Within reason)

Which is to say, similar experience

[-] Mandarbmax@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I love the femcel memes people. What scares me is if Violet08 finds them, I think together they would be too powerful.

[-] Gonzako@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, but violet gets laid tho

[-] Ironfacebuster@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Coming here after the post was changed to be a gif of puppies chasing a little kid, reading the comments really confused me until I realized what happened

Edit: lol never mind my app wasn't showing me the full height gif

I stumbled upon a conversation about violence against women on Twitter once. The lady spearheading it was of strong opinions against men. Yes, violence against women is abhorrent, and those responsible should be held accountable. Women have the right to be safe.

But ... she seemed to be blaming every man on Earth, going so far as to call for their eradication.

I happened to make the innocent (yes, truly, I'd never heard or used the statement before), that 'not all men' are like the scumbags who commit violence against women.

Well ... !

"FUCK OFF WITH YOUR NOT ALL MEN BULLSHIT, YOU MYSOGYNIST TROLL CUNT!" And further robust exclamations and accusations of that nature ensued.

Educated as to the limitations of my knowledge in this area, I decided to withdraw from the conversation.

[-] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Civil discourse dies on twitter. The algo demands "engagement".

Also, the absolute irony of using Elon Musk's platform to push a progressive or faux-progressive view point.

[-] rekabis@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The irony being that,

  1. Men are the overwhelming victims of non-reciprocal physically violent domestic violence; being about 71% of the victims.
  2. Even in terms of random assaults by strangers, over 80% of the victims are men.
  3. And finally, even if we look at the big kahuna of cross-gender rape, it turns out that women rape men as frequently as men rape women. It’s just that not only have most men been brainwashed into thinking that men cannot be raped, but that even the FBI did not consider it as rape until 2015 (so no national stats exist before this time), and even now many police precincts have software that hard-codes the victim as female and the perp as male, further corrupting justice.
[-] EsmereldaFitzmonster@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago

From the time article you linked: "Nearly 7 percent of men, however, reported that at some point in their lives, they were “made to penetrate” another person—usually in reference to vaginal intercourse, receiving oral sex, or performing oral sex on a woman. This was not classified as rape, but as “other sexual violence.”

The term usually is not scientific. There needs to be more clarity here.

Also, this article is strange– it has the aggressive tone of someone with a grudge and something to prove. But the take away of this article seems to be more about standardizing vocabulary when researching sexual assault and rape for better accuracy and NOT about claiming women rape as much as men so therefore sexual assault and rape against women is a non-issue.

[-] QuinnyCoded@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago

don't understand how that relates to femcel memes though
